Watching the news just now:

The poor lad who ended up in a wheelchair, after being shot by a racist asshole, is wearing a vintage Albion shirt.

Appears to be this shirt: https://www.3retro.com/brand/bukta/brighton/749_brighton-hove-albion-1978-bukta-shirt.html

Possibly the most bizarre thread ever posted on NSC. And I have read the Fireman Dan thread.

No criticism, by the way. Facts are facts. And that is a fact.

Was in an article back in December that he followed the Albion.

Incredible, shows you what a small world it is. The most high-profile Palestinian victim of the wave of Islamophobic hate crime that has surged in America due to the hideous events in Gaza is a Brighton fan

Great shirt, heartbreaking story. The appearance of a BHA shirt on a US news programme is quite random, but, as the victims point out, the attack on them was not. It was, rather, a result of racism and the dehumanization of Palestinians.

Hisham - if, by any chance, you ever visit this forum - I send you best wishes for your recovery. I am appalled by what happened to you, and by the genocide that is happening in Palestine.

Wow. Hope the club bring him over as a guest of honour for a game. Shows how our profile is increasing, in the past he would have supported Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea etc. Maybe being a Palestinian attracted him to the underdog.

Great idea. Do the club know about this? Are they aware? Would be a decent gesture by the club for him to be a guest of honour at a home game. Anything NSC can do? I would be happy to chip in to a fund.

All too depressingly shocking. My thoughts are with Awartani. I’m sure we all wish you the best recovery possible. Keep working at it.

Human being are incredibly clever. Sadly, we still haven’t learned to leave our hatred behind and allow each other to live in peace.
