Around the turn of the century, as a 16 year-old, I wrote my one and only cheque. About £200 for a lads holiday to Magaluf.

Wrote one....no idea?!?

I got a tax rebate last year and was sent a cheque. Don't have a branch in town any more so I drove to the nearest branch which is all self service. The woman helping people use the machines handily told me I could have paid it in to my account using the mobile banking app or at the post office. Every day is a school day and all that!

Last Tuesday. Checks (as they spell it here in the USA) are used more often especially with small businesses, but it’s getting less and less.

I think it was June 2018. For some reason, I had to pay my rent by cheque for the 2 places I rented in Toronto. I've had a mortgage since then but I think a lot of rental places still prefer cheques. Banking in Canada has always felt somewhat behind the times.

Also, I've just remembered I had to pay about $50 to get a chequebook here

My current cheque book says it was issued 2002! Still loads of cheques left in it. The last two cheques written were for donations at funerals over the past five years.

Really can't remember when I last wrote one - don't even have a cheque book anymore. Last cheque I actually had was one for HMRC as a tax rebate and for £6.5k so had to actually go to the branch to pay it in.

As an aside, I'm in France at the moment and it's amazing how many people pay for their shopping using cheques.

Haven't had a cheque book for many years. Far enough away to not remember receiving or giving my last!

20th December 2023 to the Rough Stuff Fellowship - the oldest off road cycling club in the world. It's resolutely old school, still issuing a paper newsletter.
Edit: it actually triggered my bank sending me a new chequebook which will probably outlast me.

Despite being a 'city of the future' in so many ways, Dubai still expects you to pay your rent in cheques.

2008 was the last time I wrote one. I think 2014 for a tax rebate was the last time I cashed one. I actually had a tax rebate back last September and just went on to the Government Gateway website and put my bank details in to have it paid.

Going back over 30 years ago my mother in law went to work for a one man band who imported and exported . She opened a draw to find scores of uncashed cheques that were written many years before . I am not sure how long an uncashed cheque lasts .

I don’t recall ever writing a cheque in my entire life.

The last inbound cheque received was the compensation from HMPO who for some reason cancelled my passport when it was submitted as part of my youngest first passport application

I received £8.99 for the additional photo and special delivery costs for the new PP and £4.99 by way of sorry!

No idea, for the odd one I receive just scan on my banking app and money ready once it has cleared.
