The 'ill fan' has since passed away.

RIP Iain Purslow, lifelong supporter of Bolton Wanderers.

If you read this piece of shit that calls itself a newspaper, please stop.

It's astonishing that people still read this paper. And I say that as a former Sun reader.

Are any of those tabloids any better than each other? Tabloids write this guff all the time. It was just this weekend the Sun got "unlucky" with it

Look at the record of the Daily Mirror? Look at the grotesque distortions of the truth that come from the Express and the Mail. They've all hacked phones, they've all engaged in gutter journalism with a view to pushing their agenda.

It's my sincerely held view, that our nations greatest enemy are the proprietors of these tabloid papers. Nobody has done more to poison our nation and no one stands as more of a clear threat to our national cohesion and prosperity than this handful of offshore billionaires.

Obviously your point is valid. However I'm going to stick up for them (slightly) inasmuch as no matter how bad they are they are at least regulated, and if they print utter lies (rather than just distortions) they can be called out and censured. That isn't the case for myriad websites, blogs, Youtube channels, podcasts etc (which people use to 'do their own research') and a lot of social media. In fact I feel our tabloid press is very much the lesser of two evils, especially as is apparently the case a lot of people get their news and 'facts' straight off the unregulated likes of Facebook.

I wouldn't call it a "new low" so much as the latest in a long series of lows

IMHO any football fan who reads the Sun is self-hating on some level, for all the "we love footy" bilge it's pretty clear that they absolutely hate those of us in the stands. A paper for the armchair plastics.

Not read it since that time they did a piece on Millwall accusing them of making Nazi chants... in a game against us, which I attended, and they categorically were not.

Wasn’t it us doing the nazi chants, when it was in fact us just shouting “seagulls”? I can’t really remember but I think that was the gist of it.

As horrible as this is, it’s nowhere near a new low. They’ve done much, much worse. It’s their most recent scummy move certainly. Until tomorrow, I suspect.
Yes, you are correct. This is a low which would upset most decent folk, but for that piece of used bog roll it doesn't even need a snorkel.

The accusation was that Brighton fans were making Nazi chants, not Millwall. The 'journalist' thought Seagulls was Seig Heil, when we took a corner, because we also pointed to the corner, which he thought was a Nazi salute.
I was there too.

Yes, it was us chanting Seagulls, but it was definitely Millwall that were accused in the article. I was livid when I read it, and wrote in to the Sun to set the record straight.

Yes, you're right. The 'journalist' didn't even know the difference between home and away fans.

I seem to remember he also moaned because he turned up in the home end, sat reading the paper, and no-one had the courtesy to start a conversation with him - was that the one?
