WhoScored.com has some interesting stats.
On pass success %age, the top 5 are JPVH, Igor, Baleba, Wee Billy and Dunk.

On most number of passes per game (avg), the top 5 are Dunk, Webster, JPVH, Mr Gross and Wee Billy.

So there you go.
Dibby-dobbying it around the back is very good for boosting these stats...

Groß is sublime but you'd struggle to see better *long range* passing than what we see from either Steele or Dunk.

I think that RDZ would be disappointed if there was a single stand out best passer in the team, he expects them all to be the best passers doesn’t he?

Question I asked on Saturday. Is the ball different in the FA Cup? As our players seemed to find it harder to control when passed to them, not normally a problem.

Maybe it was the altitude? Ball harder/softer?

It's Pascal Gross anyway. Corners, crosses, passes, free kicks, goals, assists, and the turns. Don't forget the turns.

Indeed - different ball for each competition, due to different manufacturer / sponsor tie-ins.

I actually noted to my lad on Saturday, that the Stoke subs, at half time, were warming up with some generic white footballs, that were definitely NOT the official FA Cup ball - and commented that its the kind of small detail that we'd never miss these days.

I mentioned it as lots of passes seemed to be hit harder and players had trouble controlling it.
The FIFA Laws of the game specifiy:
The ball is:
• spherical
• made of leather or other suitable material
• of a circumference of not more than 70 cm (28 ins) and not less than
68 cm (27 ins)
• not more than 450 g (16 oz) and not less than 410 g (14 oz) in weight at
the start of the match
• of a pressure equal to 0.6 – 1.1 atmosphere (600 – 1,100 g/cm2) at sea
level (8.5 lbs/sq in – 15.6 lbs/sq in)
It is possible that the FA cup and the Premier League and the Champions League all have different Sponsors who provide the game balls, but all of the games balls must meet the specifications listed above.
So, yes, given different sponsors and the allowable variation of one inch in circumference , the diameter could vary by as much as 0.31 inches and the weight by two ounces.

Yes, Dunk. And Hinshelwood is watching on.

Equally importantly I can't think of anyone who is crap at passing in the same way that (astonishingly) Mo Salah and Marcus Rashford are crap at passing.
Salah is not bad at passing. His through balls for one are fantastic

Going off at a tangent....

Welbeck must be the best at bringing the ball under control when having it smashed at him. I'd then put Mitoma not far behind him in executing this skill.
Ferguson is a great finisher but currently he hasn't mastered how to control the ball when it's fired into him in the middle of the park.

Back to the original question....
Best passer:
1. Groß
2. Groß
3. Groß
