The floods we have around here over the lest two days are very near record levels.
Last year in January, the level was just below the record.
The record was set in December 2020

I don't think you can say 'global warming' now can you? Climate change is where it's at (as not all parts of the globe are actually getting warmer).
If you do, they'll throw you in jail.

Oh, sorry, that was 'saying that you're English'. Its so hard keeping up with what you can and can't do these days. My apologies.

I think you can say global warming these days without fear of being thrown in jail, although climate change is arguably a better term anyway, particularly as some people are very confused with the 'global' element of the phrase when their back garden is colder than last year.

The Earth's eccentricity, obliquity, and precession are what is causing climate change.
Nothing you or I do will change that, especially any extra tax in the form of carbon credits.
Yes, changing it over the course of hundreds of thousands of years. We've seen the climate change over decades, caused by human activity.

Hence the name "Man Made Climate Change".

Perhaps actually research climate change properly.

West is BEST
Whatever we do in this country will not affect the so called climate change , we are too insignificant in size and influence

Not true. Our small island has had a huge affect on climate change. From the Industrial Revolution to Sunak’s recent climb down on net zero, we’ve made a significant contribution to climate change. And with thousands of operations across the globe, we continue to do so.

The real ones know
This is indicative of the problem, climate change / global warming is now a partisan political football, in the culture wars world cup, rather than a scientific one.

We have:

1. feminist scientists from woke WEF, Bill 'vaccine' Gates, George 'BLM' Soros and the unlikely upfront partnership of King Prince Charles and Megan Markle.

Facing off against;

2. the might of the scientists from numerous right-wing/libertarian US think tanks, Donald 'bleach drinker' Trump, Nigel 'man of the people' Farage, and Laurance 'in the box' Fox.

Winner will be decided by whoever shouts the loudest and upsets most people.

It's usually the idiots who shout loudest.

But a real scientist will know what a foraminifera is, they would have studied them and seen how the earth's climate changes, they would have also studied Milankovitch cycles, cross-referenced that data with the foraminifera and concluded that the climate, naturally changes. The earth isn't as hot as it's ever been, we are actually in an ice age and close to an ice age extinction hence the rapid warming. Idiots bang on about man-made c02 from cars, industry, log burners etc but they do not mention methane, and I'm not talking about the WEF loonies wanting to kill all cows because they fart methane or even the vast amounts Iran leaks into the atmosphere as it's one giant dump. The natural methane released from the permafrost is due to the end of the ice age. That cannot be stopped.

Anyway, idots will come along, preach and shout about their ev, solar panels, and vegan lifestyle without knowing that what they do will have no effect on the earth's natural cycle. They're just an NPC in reality.

I’m not a ‘real scientist either’ but I work with them daily - specifically in looking at the causes and impacts of our global climate and on species adaptation. We provide research globally as well as nationally - the anthropogenic contributions to climate change are incontrovertible and are causing CC to take place in a comparatively rapid short term window and at a different rate to the longterm Milankovitch cycles. We have understood the natural cycles of CC for years - it is not the natural changing climate that is the issue, it is the rate of short term changes that has been affected by anthropogenic causes and the rate which poses the immediate threat of devastation - species (including ourselves) are not able to adapt fast enough. Those species that are already adapting (by expansion of their range/variation in their food niche etc) have a better chance of survival but in a complex ecosystems of codependency that won’t be enough.

Actually people do talk about methane...

Gases that trap heat are measured as CO2e aka Carbon Dioxide Equivalent, referring to the amount of heat they trap compared to CO2.

Milankovitch cycles take place over 10s of thousands of years, we wouldn't see the level of climat change we're seeing now if it was solely natural.

With regards to permafrost releasing more methane, this would also not be happening at the same rate it currently is if it wasn't for us releasing more CO2e into the atmosphere trapping heat.

Further there's also the Albedo Effect, a positive feedback loop that as more reflective ice melts more dark, absorbent ocean is revealed leading to more temperature trapped, faster ice melting leading to more absorbent sea etc etc.

Idiots like yourself come along with two points that you haven't actually researched the causes of or what they do, you've simply heard it said by a conspiracy nut and parrot it.

You'll then get corrected by people who have actually researched it but ignore it because you don't like being told you're wrong and a moron.

Yes but didn't you know @RandyWanger watched a YouTube video that didn't cite research or sources which told him it's fake so you're wrong.
