Hardly! Being in League1 was hardly a crisis - and we ultimately finished 16th, even if we had been bobbling around the lower reaches for most of the season. Tommy was only ten years old when we made our great escape at Hereford!

That was the most magical start imaginable to the Albion decade, barely 12 hours in
CMS at Burnley. If only he hadn't been playing for a mentally arthritic manager..............

Russell Slade and we only escaped on the last day of the season, not 1997. Everybody else called it the Great Escape.
There was even a pitch invasion at Withdean.
