    [Albion] Positives from Forest game.

We may be able to start the 'teams that cannot catch us thread' before we play our next game

    [Albion] Cape Town Seagulls

I am not aware of any Albion supporters clubs in South Africa. If you hear of any please let me know.

[Albion] Semi-legendary players who will surely get forgotten over time, but deserve a shout for doing their bit

His birth certificate may say Texas but Junior McDougald grew up on the Oxmoor in Huntingdon, not quite as romantic an idea.

    [Travel] Johannesburg trip

I agree with the last paragraph but it is a stunningly beautiful country, with fabulous weather and a great standard of living. The problem is Johannesburg does not really show that off. With only 2 nights not really long enough to do a proper bush experience from joburg, but I might be...

    [Travel] Johannesburg trip

I lived in Melrose for 9 years, leaving 2 years ago but still living in South Africa. The better parts of Johannesburg are the northern suburbs centered around Sandton (Sandown is part of this) and Rosebank (Melrose is adjacent to Rosebank) (Unless taking a hire car) The 3 options I would pick...

    [Albion] Graham Potter

During Hughtons time in charge, in the quest for premier league survival, our playing style regressed from attacking in championship to a set defensive pattern. This made players in that system not attractive to the larger clubs and jeopardized the player development model. One of the key...

[Other Sport] Lions tour of South Africa

Before hopefully allowing this thread to return to the rugby ans as things are quietening down. Maybe I can share this as the simpliest explanation I have read. Apparently, this is from Clem Sunter (a scenario planner and strategist whose influential ideas in the 1980s played into apartheid...

[Other Sport] Lions tour of South Africa

I write this from Hilton in the KZN Midlands (and jusr outside of Pietermaritzburg) where things area little calmer tonight and last night than earlier in the week. Certainly here Vodacom network seems to be down which I am sure is impacting your friends ability to keep in touch. The town has...

[Albion] If you could start the season with only ONE of White, Edouard or A M-N in the squad?

Who would you pick? Ages, discussed values not too different. Feels like the companion poll to White vs Dunk to leave.

[Cricket] England v South Africa- Fourth Test- Johannesburg, Jan 24-28 2020

Just driven away from area, but hard to describe it as raining (did not turn on wipers). Overcast, 17 degrees, bit of a breeze with maybe some moisture in the air, sounds like a beautiful Yorkshire summers day.

[Cricket] England v South Africa- Fourth Test- Johannesburg, Jan 24-28 2020

Highveld summer weather is very localised. Can be raining and yet sunny 1km away - so difficult to predict. Forecast to stop raining in about 30 mins but then start again at 3pm, with over 80% chance of rain through to midday Saturday when drops to 20%.

I can see the floodlights of Wanderers from here and it is currently grey and raining.

    [Food] Cheese Footballs!

1984 received a box of Smith's cheese footballs for winning the Cambridgeshire primary school 5 a side league. With hindsight think was pinnacle of my football playing career.

[Albion] How will the Boro game play out?

Something like this has to be the answer. Tense, cagey with few chances to the 82 minute, but Brighton now pushing with desperation, as one final throw of the dice, Bobby Zamora comes off the bench in the 88th minute. He can hardly run with his hip injury but it does not really matter now...
