Yes and no.
Steele's pass was absolutely right, but Baleba should've turned into the space instead of giving it to Barco. This would've taken out 5 City players and led to us being on the attack. I see Baleba make this sort of mistake multiple times a game. You'll often see RDZ jumping around...
I think the issue with Gross is finding the right place to play him.
I'm not convinced he's the right profile for RDZ's double pivot as i don't think he defends the space well enough & his lack of pace means we can't break quickly if he is in the 10.
But, he is simply too good not to have in...
He should've gone on loan to the championship in January after recovering from his injury. Unfortunately, our lack of recruitment/injuries meant we needed him.
Blimey!
Although i agree that his finishing is by the weakest part of his game (sounds strange as he's our top scorer), but he is by far the best we have at dropping deep to pick up the ball from the defence and turning a defender. Something we see RDZ want often.
RB - Although i think Hinshelwood/Gross/Veltman suit RDZ's favoured system. Actually prefer Gross there than in the double pivot. But a proper attacking fullback for the games that need one.
CB - JPVH as been our best defender this season, but we need a pacey defender who can defend large...
Good good, please no.
The way he is setting up his midfield absolutely stinks. Got away with it in the Eredivisie as teams could't play through a press.
Scanner - "Beeeeep"
Security - "What's that?"
Me - "My Keys"
Security - "Oh OK. No need to get them out, just make sure you take your hat off on the way through"
Good luck getting through that high level of security ISIS.
