I raised this just after the charge was made, earlier in this thread. I got shot down.

A pretty inevitable conclusion. Unsatisfactory for either party. Bong will feel aggrieved at what he thought he strongly felt he heard and Rodriguez aggrieved at being accused of something he felt strongly that he didn't say. Time for both players to move on from the whole sorry episode.

That's my hope. Hit rock bottom, rip out out the rottonness in the club and rebuild.

The only positive is at present we are debt free. However, rumours are that a fair few players don't have flex down in their contracts which was always the standard when we were yo yoing between the divisions in the noughties. So doubt we will be a club in black for much longer.

I am fairly close to the club and I know how littke respect Pardew commands. Players don't like him at all. We have been so well run for so long, it's tough to see it falling apart and potential of return to the bad days of the 90s beckoning.

One of disgust but no real surprise. The players were against going and aren't behind Pardew at all so it's not a surprise to me that something went wrong.

Just another example of the mess our club is in at the moment. From well run and tight ship to all over the place in the space of 12 months. I wouldn't worry too much about us getting out of relegation trouble. We are gone.

I agree. If no case is proven, the way forward would be to put it all behind him. Dragging it further not good for anyone even if he feels wronged.

No...not racially. There was anger that he went on TV and spoke publicly about it which could have prejudiced the case. If it's proven that Rodriguez didn't use racially motivated words, there could be case for slander.

I don't disagree with you. Just passing on what was reported up here around reason for extension. This is a huge thing for the player. Career defining moment. Not surprising that he is ensuring he us fully prepared to defend himself. We would all do the same would we not, if we felt wrongly...

On the contrary. He has employed a barrister to defend him. There is talk of counter law suits with regards slander.

You can't ban someone before they have been found guilty.

I guess the club asked for extra time to prepare given Rodriguez was out of the country this week so unable to meet with his representatives.
