First season I was allowed to go (walk there) on my own, though did have to meet my uncle at the ground and stand with him in NE corner. Wally Gould was my favourite player, am I right in remembering he had a few fingers missing?
Having 6 weeks of summer holiday in front of you with no plans (who actually went on holiday then??), maybe a few days away with the Scouts, rest of time was hanging out with mates, even getting bored which was fine too......otherwise yes, in the woods, playing football, climbing trees, going to...

I was over for that game (from Copenhagen) , as I recall Peter Grummit played a blinder.
Worse memory was a few years later my friends had got me a ticket and I came over but it got snowed off.....
Back home in Mexico after catching the Burnley and Brentford games (despite the railways best efforts to thwart me), so will be watching on ESPN in my freezing house here - no heating, houses built to keep the heat out....so need to be warmed up by watching us thump them..
So will todays trip down from London again prove to be more challenging than the trip from Mexico to London, seemingly the 9.59 from Victoria is running…..great to be back in the1st (???) world
