I have also seen Moneyball. The reason why Oakland were successful using the moneyball method was that they found a gap in the market. They realised that some players were vastly undervalued as people were looking at the wrong statistic. You could bet that after that season a lot of teams...
More money in pdc and all the top players are already there. You will often get one or two top players in bdo, but you can almost always guarantee that they will defect to the pdc the following year.
The wire does take time to get going, I felt the same after a few episodes but when you have seen at least 1 series you understand how well it is written and the level of detail that has gone into it.
It is difficult comparing it with ESPNs games as they were always on Saturday evenings, I am sure that if you look at BARB you will find tv audiences are always bigger for programmes in the evening than on Saturday early afternoons.
I dont think they will be too concerned, Rugby viewing figures are up over 100% on last season. As for English football, they are never going to topple sky in the first season. They have a good selection of foreign matches though.
Personally I like bt sports so far. Didnt see the game this morning as I went to our game but from what I have seen has been good. Like bt sports panel, Clare baldings show and carribean 20/20 cricket
I dont know if this has been posted before but I thought it was quite a funny quote
Sudeikis says: "Crystal Palace sounds like a place where a kid has a birthday party - where you can race go-karts, do a little laser-tag and play some video games - no-one can take that seriously.

Like most people on here I don't remember seeing ward play so I will judge him on how he plays for us. Also I don't care if Oscar spotted him or if Burke spotted him or if the cleaner spotted him as long as he plays well at left back.
I don't know either, he may have been told he was too short before he got to England. I was only going by what keane said and I got the impression that he did turn up for a trial, I will have to dig out the book again :)
