Petition: Hold public inquiry into West Ham & LLDC deal for rental of Olympic Stadium

There are two sides to this. 1) Is it a good deal for the tax payer? No. It is not. BUT it is probably one of the best possible deals that could have been got after those in charge messed up the planning and legacy. However, you could also argue West Ham could contribute a hell of a lot more...

Petition: Hold public inquiry into West Ham & LLDC deal for rental of Olympic Stadium

West Ham has only contributed £15m towards the £272m conversion costs of the Olympic Stadium, with the taxpayer footing the rest of the bill. Considering the cost to the taxpayer, and the effect of this taxpayer subsidy on competition between clubs, a full public inquiry into the deal is needed...

Nearly 29,000 at Brighton yesterday, around 26500 at Leeds v Derby

Out of interest - do you think the excitement of being in a division that teams aren't used to being in has any effect? As in the Premier League increase in fans for Palace might be similar to an increase that Brighton get from the Championship? (Obviously the new stadium effect makes...

Zaha charged by the FA [was: could be banned]

Leeds fans on twitter were slating others for racially abusing him.

Well at least our support was fantastic.

As always depends where you sit in the ground? If you're in the Whitehorse then you'd here Brighton. If in the Holmesdale then you would struggle to hear Brighton.

    Poyet: Buckley better than Zaha

Very rarely post on here, and don't want to get into an argument. But most teams we have played so far this year have had people on their forums saying that they've seen Ince and Zaha and Zaha is better. Some people (especially Brighton fans) will regard Ince as better but to say only Palace...

    Joel ward

If he goes it will be somewhere around that price. Not necessarily because he is worth £10million but because we don't need to sell. Therefore we can say no until a desperate club want to take a risk and throw a figure somewhere in the region of £10million at us. It's the opposite to Pompey who...

Unlike you, I'm trying to have a realistic discussion. I said 17th was slightly lower than I felt our performances deserved. Next season I hope we will be in the top 10. Back to the original point though, it is good that we have signed a good right back to replace Clyne.

    Joel ward

We had very little depth and a lot of the first team got injured around the same time. Also, the best young centre midfielder missed half the year with a broken leg, and young is the important word there, he isn't the best midfielder in the league. Moreover, most of our best players are...

You're obviously on a wind up. I think most of your fans would agree that he was the best right back.

Clyne was the best right back in the league last season and it was brilliant to have him. However, full back is a position that you really don't need star players in. Having a good player come in as a replacement is all that is needed and we seem to have achieved that.

    Joel ward

Clyne is as good as gone, but Ward is the replacement probably. He is unlikely to be as good as Clyne but in this league you don't need an amazing right back, you just need a solid, decent one. Zaha will stay or go for silly money as we don't have to sell him. Speroni will stay. Ambrose may go...

Crystal palace, joke of a club?

The only stand to sell out was the Holmesdale. Capacity is no longer 26k as the police have removed a load of seats (pretty much a whole block) from the far end of the Arthur so they can stand there on match days. Also, the sterile areas are huge and there were a lot of patches of empty seats...
