Biography:
JCL unfortunately, born in Lindfield, grew up in Hastings, supported a team, who shall remain nameless, as I was growing up but lost my mojo for them as time has moved on and the Premier League with all its pomp, self importance and showmanship and gave up my season ticket 7 years ago.
After an injury sustained at work several years back I lost all interest in football/ sport in general amongst other things. First game I went to post injury happened to be Stevenage v Brighton, sat with the albion fans, in a pre season friendly last year 2016, enjoyed it and decicded to get down to The Amex and did so v Forest loved it and bought a season ticket straight away based on my experience that day.
Previously visited The Goldstone and Withdean. Not proud to be a JCL, that's one of the reasons I lost interest in my previously supported club ironically enough, JCL's got on my bloody nerves to be honest, day trippers, tourists and glory hunters.
So glad to have gone to that pre season at Stevenage and in my short time following Albion have become very taken in with everything the club stands for and love the genuine passion I see from all involved, it is quite unique in my footballing experience of some 40 years, and hope it can remain that way.
Love the story of where the club came from and am learning more and more with time, makes me wish I had been there and experienced a bit of that, though my former supported club did have their own problems a while back, but in a strange way I enjoyed that more than the abomination it has become today.
Not trying to muscle in on the good times, I go to as many games as work permits, love it, come home and look forward to the next one.
Easy to say now but genuinely wish I had cut my teeth and earnt my stripes following the Albion earlier, will ,rightfully, be viewed as a bandwagoner but, hopefully will lose that and the JCL tag with time! if it was success and trophies I was interested in I would have stayed as I was, should never change teams, stick with chosen team good and bad, I grew to despise the good and make no apologies for my change of heart.
For those that have got this far I apologise for my waffling but that's my BHAFC experience warts n all. Cheers.
