It's going to be great fun on these threads watching the 5th column meltdown if all these positive forecasts and upgraded growth predictions turn out to be even vaguely accurate ... booming Brexit Britain :lolol:

What time limit are you setting on that? The 10 year Raab forecast or the 50 year Rees Mogg one?? I'll put a reminder in my diary in 2071 just to be on the safe side

.....tribal tory distraction name for critics of Brexit and/or the government. Much overused mantra by Brexit apologists and of course totally inaccurate. Mildly amusing at first but thoroughly worn out now.

It would also be great fun if Albion win the Premier League next season which, let's face it, is far more likely :dunce:

And, back in the land of reality

Brexit: Sales of milk and cream to EU down 96% and chicken and beef by almost 80%

Sales of milk and cream to the EU are down an extraordinary 96 per cent – and chicken and beef by almost 80 per cent – because of Brexit, new figures show.

Overall, the trade barriers erected in Boris Johnson’s deal have cost exporters more than £1.1bn since the start of the year, The Food and Drink Federation says. The organisation said it was “essential” that the UK urgently restarts talks with the EU to resolve the crisis – something the prime minister has so far refused to do.

The statistics lay bare how withdrawal from the EU – rather than the impact of Covid-19 – lies behind the collapse in exports, since the transition period ended on 31 December.

It's also massively historically illiterate. After all, many in Germany in the 1930s and 1940s would have described the anti-Nazis as "fifth columnists", but personally I know which side of that coin I'd rather have been on.

The UK gov has been paying millions of peoples wages for over 12 months and people have saved money during a very long lockdown created by serial failure in governance. Meanwhile the economy contracted 10% in 2020, amongst worst in the developed world.

Of course there is going to be some pent up demand and some economic bounce.

But it doesn't get away from the fundamentals of the UK economy have been damaged by Brexit, imposing trade sanctions on ourselves and eroding our tax base.

Meanwhile numerous issues remain unresolved, we have an unsecure import border, a no deal on services and of course an internal customs border to name few

Keep pretending...

Brexit has been remarkable in the way is has destroyed UK export sectors spared by Covid. People are still consuming diary products, they just buy elsewhere instead

Anyone who was worked in sales will realise its 10 times harder to find a new customer than keep an old one

Hard lessons, hard Brexit

5th columnists and traitors hurt the country. I know who the traitors are.

How is Brexit going? PART ONE with Ross Atkins...

FISHING

https://twitter.com/BBCRosAtkins/status/1386774351500955653

Where did it all go wrong?

Thank you for this.
Bad Brexit news is now characterised by hardline, unreconstructed Leave voters as 'unpatriotic'; if anything, it seems the reverse is becoming true.

I really think the damage done by the Leave folly needs to be continually highlighted. Without any self satisfaction; it adversely affects us all.

When and if there is an occasional Brexit bonus (very few and no consolation) then I think it will be readily acknowledged; but the extent of the fallout needs to be publicised......

I rate Ross Atkins and before anyone lays into the Beeb he ain't biased. Just explains it like it is.

Maybe one day it might be a bit better for fisherman, problem is many will be bust by then. I feel for them...

Amusing to see the 5th column collective getting their knickers in a twist after spending 5 years siding with the EU on every issue and rubbishing the UK at every opportunity while continually catastrophising, spreading misinformation/lies and all because they can't accept democratic decisions when they don't go their way.

Of course, there could be an alternative explanation ....

Brexit has been the most emotional policy dispute in recent times. It drove some people to insanity.

Not half as amusing you are failing to come up with one single tangible benefit of Brexit

No, no look over there :dunce:

I can't imagine why an ardent Unionist supporting Brexiteer would want to keep posting whaboutism and deflection at every opportunity rather than talk about the actual consequences of the Brexit they voted for :shootself
