Bissouma's value is relative to how much a replacement is.

If a house was once valued at £550K and is now on sale for £450K, it's okay providing all the other houses that you want to buy have also dropped in value.

Prices across Europe are all bound to be much lower.

That depends if we replace him externally or not. It could be that the club, rightly or wrongly, plan to cover his position using Moder and Caicedo. If we've already got the replacements in-house then that strengthens our position significantly.

There's no doubt that Tony will have a fair price in mind and wont want to stand in a players way, but I feel his fair price would be more like £40m. If we're turning down £30/35m for Ben White, and buying a Championship player (Webster) for £22m then it seems strange to sell Biss, a decent Prem starting midfielder, for £30m.

In non covid times I think we'd want £50m, but with a covid discount £40m seems fair to me. If we sold him in the £25-30m bracket to Arsenal they would see that as an absolute steal considering they've previously spent £72m on Pepe and £50m on Partey,

Covid or otherwise Tony is an incredible business man in my opinion. His hardline stance will continue of refusing to let an asset go on the cheap.

If we’re turning down 30 odd million for Championship Ben White, there is no chance we’re accepting the same for a key player and one of the best PL players in his position. Biss is coveted by most of the top 6 clubs and is destined for Champions League football (and he can go up another level as a player at a top club).

I think Biss will go and we’ll get a good and fair deal. Otherwise it won’t happen. Also, reading between the lines I think a deal has already been done.

The model looks - to an uninformed outsider, anyway - like we want to (develop and) sell on talented young players; doing this will make us a more attractive proposition to such players who will see joining us as a progression route to bigger clubs. So are there strategic benefits to selling Bissouma, in terms of the message it sends to other players (current or potential)? In which case I'd certainly think Biss will be sold this summer. Bissouma doesn't guarantee we won't be relegated, So surely we are risking loosing £230 million in that scenario if we didn't sell him.
