If there was a second Brexit referendum how would you vote?

I sympathise with those who call for compromise but is a satisfactory compromise even possible? It seems to me that we've spent three years driving along a country lane and have now reached a junction with a main road. We can turn left or right. Or we can compromise by driving into the brick wall opposite.

A very good analogy, but I would add in that the road to the right is signposted 'To The Cliffs'!

If Leave was polling at 58% and the pro-Brexit parties had done as well in the local elections, people would be banging on about how it was a mandate for Brexit to happen and happen quickly. Therefore it has to be concluded with Remain on 58% and the pro-Remain parties doing well in the Locals that the mandate to Leave is looking increasingly flimsy.

Sorry but it takes a special kind of unwillingness to stare facts in the face to see a big surge in voting for parties which back Remain and away from parties which back Leave and think this somehow doesn't indicate that the public don't want to Leave anymore. And some of these swings took place in "Brexit-y" areas to boot.

If anything this is likely to be a better indication of public feeling than the European elections, which will see the vote split far more.

That level of spinning would make even Alastair Campbell blush ...

Council elections where the Brexit Party wasn't even standing are a better indicator of the public mood about Brexit than European elections .... brilliant :lolol:

The peculiar irony of people voting for a Brexit party for the EU elections, so when (read: if) Brexit actually happens, then once it does they'll be pointless from that point on.

And if Brexit doesn't happen, they won't act with the nation's best interest at heart within the EU, chances are they'll act like petulant kids.
Priceless coming from a grizzler

The two and a half year old mandate was a slim 2% with dodgy funding and significant interference from overseas in support of Brexit I believe. Are you okay with that?

...and again I ask - what kind of 'leave' would suit you? Is it the same as the kind of leave that others want and have voted for? How would you know?

I notice you avoid the issues surrounding the conduct of the 2016 referendum; dodging difficult questions is something you do well. It may not feel so good later though....

You have set yourself a really low bar in responding - and you have failed to achieve it. You have, however managed to skate past the matter of an extremely suspect 2016 referendum. Again.

How about the significant interference from overseas in support of remain.I refer of course to the 'back of the queue' rhetoric from Obama, and Soros.
