We're catering for 14 adults and 9 bin lids ... it's going to need the kids to be on the alternating height chairs!

Going to daughter's for Xmas Day.

So, being in Pompey, I don't know what it'll be but it'll be the best in the world.

Whatever they have on at the Wetherspoons in Crawley.

Parents idea, and we're joining some of mums walking group, should be 9 of us.

Not a bad idea really, would only me and parents this year otherwise.

Plus I've got my CAMRA voucher for money off a pint :drink:

Starting with some prawn cocktail with lashings of seafood sauce, then we've got a champagne sorbet as a pallet cleanser before the main event, a whole cooked goose by mrs crodo with all the trimmings and a red wine jous, then vienetta for dessert followed by cheese and biscuits and a glass of port. Cooking for 5 this year so all the pressure is on Mrs Crodo.

My favourite meal of the year....

Seafood starter

Turkey crown, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, home made chestnut stuffing, chipolatas wrapped in streaky bacon, leeks in home made cheese sauce, sliced sprouts with chopped pancetta and garlic, broccoli, mashed swede, carrots, red cabbage, asparagus, roasted squash and lashing of gravy. Bread sauce and Cranberry sauce on the side.

Christmas, Pud or Trifle

Cheese and biscuits.

Only 4 of us for lunchtime this year but the will double mid afternoon when the extra 4 will have a plate of the main as well (due to our Christmas dinner being the best)

Has to be Italian chestnut stuffing in the turkey. roasted Italian fresh chestnuts stuffing is the only choice for me. Was offered sage and onion stuffing in a hotel a few years back, walked out was disgusting tasted like paxo

Nice rich good quality Christmas pud , made with plenty of fruit and brandy.

Don’t know as going to friends - full on traditional turkey job probably. I have offered to contribute a joint of beef, so will be taking along 5kg or so of Sussex’s finest bone-in wing rib, cooked medium rare with a good supply of home made gravy, so if all else fails I’ll munch my way through that.
