Every comment by a remainer makes a leaver more determined to leave. It's the same with Trump. These are entrenched views, they won't just simply go away by a second, third, fourth vote.

We have had 40+ years of membership of the EU, maybe some (52%) want to see what it will be like outside the EU. They may be wrong, they may be right. But the vote has given them that right and it should respected. I just can't see how you can justify another vote for at least 10 years, probably longer.

Really? You can't see how you can justify another vote? here are a few reasons:

1) it was a paper thin majority of an electorate where 3m (of arguably the most affected) people were deprived of their vote.
2) The whole campaign on both sides was a shambles and a tissue of lies.
3) since the vote, the people responsible for negotiating have made an absolute mess of things.

I can think of one or two other reasons as well, but they are far more debatable.

I do think though, that we need to have a 20 year review built into whatever outcome transpires.

Unless you're one of the THREE MILLION British citizens who live abroad, weren't allowed to vote, and yet *are* entitled to vote in our general elections. I wonder how those 3 million living in the EU might have voted? ???

HAVe YOU been To the pub?I tHOUGHt it Was 3 million EU living HERE and 1 mILLIon Brits LivinG in THE evil EmpIre

Genuine question for remain supporters.

If we had a second referendum and voted to stay in the EU, at what point would it be reasonable to have another referendum to see if we'd changed out minds again and wanted to leave? Let's say that in 18 months time new polls pointed to a majority (say 55%+) wanting to leave, would that be acceptable to you, or would you say that we voted remain to it's tough now?

The thing is though, I really don’t give a **** anymore, we deserve all we get from here on in. IMO, a ridiculous decision was made, it’s not getting any better, and the Government who are supposed to have the welfare of our country at heart, appear not to give a **** either.
Absolutely. We get what we are given. It'll be a disaster, but nothing we can do about it.

Might as well disengage from the whole sorry saga, hope as an individual to weather the storm, and concentrate on the small things in life we can influence.

This would be true if it wasn't clear there is now a massive majority in favour of stay, or at least wanting a vote on the Brexit deal. I'm afraid there isn't a majority of foot stamping me me me types who want Brexit regardless of what it actually ends up meaning.

Massive majority? That's clearly not true.

Polls aren't always entirely accurate as we have seen, but it's the only evidence we have. Here's July's:

Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union, or leave the European Union?

Do you think there should be a second referendum to accept or reject the terms of Britain’s exit from the EU once they have been agreed?

So we keep voting until you get the result you want? Is that democracy??

I think the Norway deal is the best option if we have to leave, it's clearly a long way inferior a result to actually not leaving in the first place.

Anyway the troop option appears to be off the table anyway, thanks to Government cuts of all things.

If there were a 2nd Brexit Referendum

It is this kind of infantile tribalist crap, that gives credence to the often unfair impression that Leave voters are morons.

This is the future well-being of the country, that the grown ups are discussing.

It’s already been discussed,do you want to keep going until you get the decision that stops you ranting and raving?
We’re on our way.

It's a good question. Personally I believe if there is a sizeable shift in public opinion (as we are seeing at this moment toward Remain) then the calls for a referendum are clear. Nicola Sturgeon has her criteria for another Scottish referendum about right I feel, namely that there is such a groundswell of opinion in the country that it cannot reasonably be ignored. If that means having one every 5 years then so be it, but my expectation is that Leave won't come close again barring something nobody can currently see coming happening within the EU itself given the demographics of the support for European membership.

If the EU ever get into gear their idea of a "two speed Europe" on a formal basis of the Eurozone as one, centralised block and a peripheral Europe involving the UK, Norway, Switzerland and the other non-EU countries that strikes me as by far the most sensible outcome, but we aren't there yet.

So keep wanting another throw of the dice until you get what you want is not infantile?
Pro remainers seem to think there will be another vote, they will win and that will be the end of that. Not so long ago we had severe riots because some scumbag drug dealer was killed by police which in turn led another load of scumbags to go and get their shopping for free. The unrest another vote would cause would be many times worse, it won't just be scumbags either.
