Huddersfield’s last 3 games are as bad as ours. 5-1 for them to go down is a massive price.

Huddersfield are 6/4 to go down - Southampton evens and Swansea 13/8 .
Brighton are between 33-1 and 50- 1 - so the algorthims work in our favour . The fact that Swansea play both Stoke and Southampton makes a huge difference to the calculation if you think about it . We should be alright but 50-1 is tempting !!

Arsenal win was when I thought we were safe
I expect most of us thought we would stay up after that - we had what might have been enough points, and showed we could get points off one of the top 6. However, we'd have hoped for more than 1 point from the next 4, and a 35 points total is looking decidedly dodgy. The last two results should do it though.

No, #nwgull called it right. Win lose or draw against Utd, if Swansea and Saints both lose on Saturday we're mathematically safe - either of them could finish above us, but because they play each other they can't both overtake us. If Swansea pass us, Saints can't, and vice versa.

Crossed wires somewhere - that is exactly what I meant.

They are now - they were 11/2 yesterday afternoon just after the 3pm games finished. 50/1 looks about right for us.

We are still as likely as any of our rivals to go down.
Every possibility we won’t take another point.
All the teams around us have winnable games.
Saints, jammy b*stards that they are, have predictably roused themselves .
Swansea have a nice run in.
Hudd are not in a great place but similar to ours.
It’s precarious.

Disagree with every one of those points

I'd rather be in our position than any of those teams that you mentioned to be honest. Already having those points on the board, will hopefully make a difference.

Man Utd beating Arsenal today would make them guaranteed Euro League next season so perhaps may field a weakened side and rest a few on Friday in preparation of the Cup Final.

Conversely one could also say, that any pleyers that they do bring in, will be hungry to do well, in order to force their way into the reckoning for a place on Cup Final day.

Southampton and Swansea have to play each other. They can't both win.

- we aren’t
- every possibility we will get another point
- all the teams around us have a lot of losable games - and are continuing to lose or drop points) Hudds, West Ham etc) and they don’t have 37 points
- saints and swans still have an awful lot to do and saints have even more to overtake us.
- Hudds aren’t in the same place as us. They have 2 fewer points. And a 14 goal GD swing to make up.
- Swans run in isn’t “nice” - it means that either saints or them will drop points. Thus helping us:
- it’s about as precarious as being a 40 or 50-1 shot which is what we are.

Is that the same Swansea who have to play Southampton and Stoke, both still fighting for survival. I would rather play teams at the top who haven’t much to play for then cup type games at the bottom in games you can’t afford to lose.

.... for fans of Stoke, Swansea and Hudd far, far more than us.

We’re fine, all neutral pundits say we are so do the bookies.
That means nothing!
