I wouldn't pay a quid to see Joshua v Povetkin if that is up next, Eddie Hearn might find the PPV cash cow hitting the buffers at this rate. The only 2 PPV fights for Joshua now are v Wilder or v Fury, anything else is rubbish

Anyone paying for haye v bellew is a fool. It’s a non entity of a fight. Numbers will surely be down.
I didn’t pay for last night as I had a feeling that one way or another the main event would be a disappointment.
I also now believe Ppv should be no more than a tenner a pop. I could take my wife out for £19.95 if I could be arsed. Total rip off

After watching the fight live in the stadium, I was impressed with Joshua.

No it wasn't the explosive fight that most people wanted BUT Joshua answered some questions, he did not 'gas out' in the middle rounds and showed he can use his jab and reach to beat an opponent, a different side to AJ we haven't seen before.

He was almost always on the front foot also, with Parker living life up against the ropes.

By the way, Price got knocked out into next week, and Povetkin looks a serious contender.

What was your view like?I watched Mike Tyson at the Manchester Arena years ago. I had an average seat but the ring was
still far away. When I watched it on TV afterwards I realised how little you see live unless you are quite close.
Cardiff stadium is much much bigger than M Arena so I assume many of those just wasted their money.

Like him or not but AJ is the only creditable heavyweight to put bums on seats. He will beat Wilder easily and Fury will steer clear of him until he is guaranteed a fortune for getting beat.after having fought a couple of bums or has beens like Price Bellew or Haye in warm up fights.

Apparently you're not allowed to compare AJ to boxers of old. You're supposed to isolate him in today's world and as he is No 1 champ
then you are supposed to say what an amazing boxer he is.If you go against that then you are automatically labelled an AJ hater
by his fellow biased countrymen. You are not allowed to give an honest opinion if it doesn't fall in line with the majority view.

I don't think anyone has said that you are not allowed to voice an opinion. Most people enjoy and engage in a reasonable debate however you don't seem to be able to have a debate without resorting to name calling, ridicule and a general aggressive tone. That's what I suspect rubs people up the wrong way.

Just my opinion.

Tyson Fury has become a legend through not fighting.
As soon as he gets in the ring people will remember he’s as dull as a fighter as he is entertaining as a talker. That’s not to say his style isn’t effective

Completely agree. If people want to talk about a dull fight his win against Klitschko was the most boring fight I have ever seen. His tactics however were brilliantly effective and he won a couple of title's for his trouble. Would still like to see Wilder or AJ beat 7 shades out of him to shut him up for good.

It's not just your opinion. He's a serial thread ruiner.

I had a seat in the middle tier, at one of the ends (not sure which end?) A few rows infront of where the people who have boxes sit. My view was good, you could see who was who and the punches being thrown but when the boxers had their backs to you, you couldn't see what was going on unless you looked at the screen

..I will always remember Price getting knocked out, though. After the right hook by Povetkin he was already looking at the stars but when he followed up with the left and Price hit the deck I thought he was in serious trouble.

Were you able to watch the fight on the big screens?

Considering Wilder has stated he wants a body count, I am sure he could give it a try.

So you prove my point by not engaging and then being abusive to another poster. . :bigwave:

Look just to clarify.I gave an opinion that didn't match the AJ biased fellow countrymen fans on here so got a load of insults.
I was then proved right and people like you I understand are upset and are clinging onto any weak argument
to have a pop but that won't change last night's woeful fight.
Sorry.

I wouldn't class the fight as 'woeful', as stated it wasn't as explosive as people wanted it to be, and no I won't blame the ref.

Joshua answered some questions last night, he has gone the distance without 'gasing' and showed to people he knows how to win a fight whilst hiding behind the jab due to his reach advantage.

Why risk it all for the big knock out punch, when you can safely win it round by round with the jab?

I like price a lot , but he should not be allowed back in a boxing ring.
