Huzah! We're saved. I doubt they have much choice though seeing as it's their World HQ. It's not easy to move a manafacturing plant, it's not a bank.

I really don't think anyone is gonna buy this reinventing of yourself as some sort of one man cultural knowledge pool, I'm afraid. If you valued culture you wouldn't have voted Leave, Fact.

I agree with you but given the stance he's taking I'll have little sympathy. Instead of making the misuse of data his main theme, he seems to be in it for revenge.

Point of fact by very definition, Baby Boomers would not have been old enough to fight in the war.
I personally have no problem with BB's at all. The world changed and they reaped rewards. It's not like they sat on their backsides it's that most of them made a good fist of the new opportunities.

We will never see a generation like it again nor will we ever see those opportunities again. However, my generation will benefit from their opportunities through inheritance. If you're clever you can look after that reduce tax you pay on it. So to dismiss BB's as ruining the country I do not agree with. Yes, many voted leave but that's the lies the Leave campaign told and they are certainly no more to blame than your average thicko leave voter.

It needn't have come to this though. Those that wanted to return to England in the 1950's where men were men and women were hairier, where shops closed on Wednesday afternoons, where the Missus had to get the husbands signature to buy a washing machine, where we ate canned food and spam, where the only noise at the breakfast table was the odd "tut" from behind Father's copy of the times, those that wanted this life could have just ****ed off to Australia and left the rest of us to our decent lives.

I recall reading somewhere (sorry can't reference it) that the optimal year to be born (free NHS, opportunities, pension, low house prices, chance of social mobility and the like) was 1948. The only common denominator between then and now is that the Aussies thrashed us - but then the buggers probably just used Brylcream to mess around with the ball!

There was a guy on telly last night who referred to the way that the older generation had been vilified for voting out( if they indeed did). He suggested that if it wasn't for his generation sacrificing themselves in wars the world and the UK itself would be nafery different place than it is now.

I think it's generally accepted by all sides that older generations voted out and the following is correct (awaits BBC liberal leftist conspiracy theorists )



And to be fair, any survivors from WW2 must be well into their 90's by now, so if he was referring to 'his generation' he must be of a similar age.

FYI, Dominic Cumming has started denigrating Wylie already. Can I just say that you have the good sense to recognise that something deeply nefarious has been at play, and that brings the 2016 result into question if proven. This just goes to show that the rule of law needs to be respected, and trumps specific position on Brexit. I'm not so sure that there will be others on this thread that agree with you on that.
As regards your point, I disagree I'm afraid. The misuse of data has been Cambridge Analytica and SCL's raison d'etre, so revenge is entirely appropriate. Mercer will either just give up his power-political chicanery or, more likely, just move on to the next format through which he can disseminate his vile views. The only way round this is regulation. Disappointingly for you, the EU is best placed to deliver this, as they've gone furthest down that regulatory route, but it will be presented as the latest attempt at bureaucracy, interference, busy-body, red tape from Brussels.

Why do you think I didn't think they had other plants? As far as my knowledge goes they have something like 20+ in Europe alone.
