I do hope there aren't posts from you drooling at Jose's Youtube videos, on signing day.
From memory they're all about 90%, cut inside, with occasional passes when marked into the touchline by about 3 opposition players.

He just isn't 'that' type of winger, and he certainly isn't going to be coached into that player during the first half of the toughest season of football he's ever played.

I don't think there are such posts. I have had a look at his youtube recently, however, and there is only one occasion of him going on the outside, amongst at least (a) dozen(s) of him cutting in.
If he can't cross, and he can't go on the outside, I'd suggest we've bought ourselves an expensive dud. I suspect you'll disagree with that.

I'm certainly not silly enough to call a player after what 3 or 4 full league games, in his debut season, at his highest level, playing for a struggling team, with minimal attacking options, a dud.

What I am saying, and it appears to be today's running theme:-

'just because a player (or manager) doesn't live up to your expectations, it doesn't automatically mean he's a failure'.

Solly March will never be Graeme Souness - So why are you annoyed that he isn't?
Chris Hughton will never be Keggy Keygee - So why are you annoyed that he isn't?
Davy Propper isn't allowed to be Zinedine Zidane - So why are you annoyed that he isn't?
and in your case:-
Jose Iaquiedo will never be Ryan Giggs - So why are you annoyed that he isn't?

I thought Solly played quit well getting back to cover the greyhound who occasionally goes missing

AK has not been on fire this season and I wonder if it's partly to do with loosing his father last season when he appeared to channel his grief into getting the Albion promoted maybe over the summer he had time to reflect and it's taken his edge, it will return but being the emotional person he is he thrives on positive feedback.

OK, I get it. I'm silly, you're not. And to expect a winger to be able to get to the byline and cross a ball with either feet are merely my expectations.

They are your (and my) expectations of wingers but they shouldn't be our expectations of Jose.
Between posts I've looked at a couple of his montages and it's blatantly obvious to everyone, esp everyone that signed him, he's just not that kind of winger.

What you should be upset about is 'why has he only scored one goal from cutting inside, or for that matter only ever looked like scoring one goal from cutting inside'.

We should be oooohing and 'unlucky Jose' a couple of times a game.

I did. It was.

I just want Izquierdo to use his pace to take his man on, get to the byline and swing a cross in with his left foot.

It’s not going to happen, is it?

On AK - did anyone notice that he was the last sub off the pitch at half time? He walked very slowly back to the touch line, constantly looking over his shoulder at the away fans. My interpretation was that he was looking for some adulation. A little bit needy. Want some adulation? Perform like you did last season, and the adulation will flow.

That said, I would have brought him on - Solly wasn’t giving us too much; he’d have offered something different.

Like you I think Izzy needs to show more. Rather than his one trick pony routine at least try to get to the by line, just do something different for Christ sake

Do any of our wingers?

Neither Solly or Knock have used their right foot this season and Izzy won’t use his left....

Aaaarrrggghhhhhh

Why 'this season', Solly have NEVER used his right foot, NEVER EVER, why is it suddenly so important he does (something he clearly can't do), this season?

I'd like Solly to use his right foot to tackle like Souness. That is what I want.

I'm going to disagree with you there ..i have seen March use his right foot....it was then a case of ''can we have our ball back'' to the stand it went in

This thread started off being about Knocky. Typical NSC, eight pages later Knocky has been forgotten and it's Solly getting the stick.

I hope that AK starts and does well but if not a change is made after 10 mjns of the 2nd half giving him 10 mins to do what he is told at half time and whoever comes on chance to get into the game rather than wait until 70 mins as usual.

And the goal that sealed us promotion, which my memory has just dredged up (there was another one the season before too)?

You do realise picking out the one or two times a season Solly has kicked the ball with his right foot doesn't exactly strengthen your argument.
I will concede if I wanted to be precise I should have gone with 'HAPPENS ONCE IN A BLUE MOON' but where's the fun in being factually correct?

I'm merely pointing out that the few times he has used his right foot, he's been pretty successful.
You rarely hear that players are 'so right-footed', whereas Solly and other left-footers are repeatedly accused of being 'so left-footed'. Now, that might just have something to do with there being far more of the former than the latter, and the tendency of such majorities to be myopic and quick to point the finger at Others.
Just so you know that I'm not completely down on Jose, I do realise that he picked out Murray for his Muff goal with his left foot.
