90% of the time, we have groceries home delivered.
The main negative, whether it be Ocado/Tesco/ASDA/Sainsbury's/Waitose, is that the trolley filler lazily dumps you with fruit, veg and 'fresh' baked products all about to reach their use by date. So after a few short days, you end up dumping rotten fruit and veg.
Whereas in the supermarket, we'd be more picky.

I still don’t understand why people trust THE most important things like this to delivery networks that aren’t set up to cope with double the volume. As others have said, order local and take a walk down to the shops to collect. Or even defrost a frozen one ordered weeks earlier. The click economy creaks at Christmas and many people still don’t get this. Companies can’t cope and over promise. There will always be casualties.

Depends on the shop. Our local Tesco are extremely picky with what they choose and will always try to get the longest date possible. Usually, if they only have short dates on an item, they do not fulfil that part of the order rather than send out stuff that they know will piss off a customer.

Make an official complaint to Iceland's head office. Some companies are generous if your complaint is genuine and serious. Others not so.
One company who are excellent at rewarding you if you complain(they will follow it up) is Greene King. Poor one is Harvester,

I don't believe the OP and reckon they watched the the good life episode which was on the other day where Margo has to cancel Christmas Day social events as Harrods don't deliver on Christmas day having sent everything back because the tree was 6 1/4 inches too short

Result just in: Iceland 0 Turkey 1.
We strip our turkey carcass, freeze it in meal-sized zip-lock bags, and do curry with it for a few months. Justifies the price of a big bird.
Which, incidentally, we ordered a few months ago from a local farm. They hang it for about a week after slaughter, which adds to the flavour. Wouldn't touch "freshly frozen" turkeys with a bargepole.
It was a boneless crown from my son in law (he works for a meat company so free ) that weighed about 7kgs. So just meat. There are only so many turkeys sandwiches you can eat. I wouldn’t have wanted to fight the whole bird that’s for sure.
