Was you born to be:tosser:or did you practice hard. I said that I was wriong and just querying the reason for the up turn and offering 2 possible solutions but the answer is obviously that he is showing what the scouts saw in him originally.

Is there no one at home that you can just ask to check what you've written before you hit the <post quick reply> button?

Erm, you really didn't. The two solutions you offered were :

'BUT he has improved tremendously and I am not sure if it is down to Ben Roberts coaching (solution 1) or the fact that he knew when we signed Tim Krul that he was a proven Premier goalkeeper so his attitude has improved somewhat and he has applied himsel;f to the job in hand to be No 1[/B (solution 2)]'

Is that not 2 possible reasons for the up turn in his form.?

Oh FFS. It would be, yes....but you said the following - which is the actual reason (which virtually everyone else agrees), not one of the two you suggested:

'I said that I was wrong (edit - you didn't) and was just querying the reason for the up turn and offering 2 possible solutions, but the answer is obviously that he is showing what the scouts saw in him originally.'

#neverwrong

He didnt show signs of being a decent keeper in the first few games hence the comment that he was obviously better tha n he showed and the scouts would have seen that. I will just drop it niow as I cannot see what the problem is.

Dazzer, it's like arguing with my wife. She genuinely does not understand what she may have done wrong. For example, she finds it bewildering that I think her putting 'dusty lightbulbs' in the dishwasher is a bad choice. Despite it being blatant to near enough every other mammal on the planet... 'I don't see what's wrong. It cleans stuff'.

We've all got one of them at home

He's a clear upgrade on Stockdale. He makes saves Stockdale could only dream to make.
I think that is bollox. Yes he appears to be better than DS but a "clear upgrade" ...no! DS dropped some clangers but he made some fantastic saves. Double one from 'Forrestiere'! Maty is more agile, DS was a bit plonkey but DS certainly distributes the ball better than our Oz. BUT would I have Maty over DS...only just

Think Maty is significantly better at crosses and his overall positioning.

The taking of crosses has improved drastically from his early games perhaps that is where BR has come to the fore. In his early games that was one of his distinct weaknesses he didnt come for crosses.

We're fortunate Benteke gets a shot off on target because that looks like a penalty otherwise!
Also fortunate that Winifred had taken his usual dive so wasn't ready to put the rebound away...

Watching that you would assume one of the aims in football was to complete a dive to the floor in your opponents' area...

Best Albion Keeper Ever

As one might hope, given where and when we are.

Now, bring on the new strikers.

Next....

Someone mentions either here or t'other thread, something I'd also completely forgotten.

In the first half of Athletico game Ryan was the MotM.

All of this 'didn't look like a good keeper' is as much gubbins as the get ridders.
