I fear you may be confusing Nationality with Race.

Nope. Ivory coast is ebola territory& so it's an itelligent insult of his nationality- so perhaps you are the confused one.

The aids thing could be shouted at anyone from or travels to where there are high instances of hiv.

So you don't find wishing Ebola and AIDS on someone offensive ffs :ffsparr:

Should I?
He didn't miraculously contract either one of those diseases so no harm done.
Maybe I'm just not as sensitive as some of the ladies on here.
Probably offended someone due to my outrageous sexism there, please feel free to tell me how it's affected your life in no way whatsoever.

I think you are skating dangerously close to a ban.

By your logic, as a heterosexual male I won't be offended by homophobic comments and chants! I think not...

Just as an aside, I wouldn't have come onto a public forum, like the Op in a sort of "outraged from Tunbridge Wells" style, but that doesn't mean to say I have to take the view of the idiots here who don't see what was shouted as a) racist and b) offensive.

The quote i responded too:

I replied

My point was that the post i replied to seems to imply that it is an exclusive thing which struck just one race and therefore will only ever be directed at someone of one race - i disagree (maybe i should have highlighted that section to make it more obvious) Not everyone will think person with AIDS = African person. and people shouldn't automatically assume Ebola = exclusively affecting Africans only

I've heard people wishing someone else got aids and died before, and it wasn't anything to do with the colour of their skin or their ancestry. Ebola is the recent deadly disease to make headlines, so is it beyond the realms of possibility that someone may wish this nasty disease on someone else (again regardless of either parties skin colour) and it not being down to their being of a particular race?

Shut up you ceaseless tit.

For having a difference of opinion with someone else as to what constitutes illegal behaviour?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions unless illegal - so stick to your vegetables chum

It's not a matter of opinion. He was chanting racist abuse.
Opinion is different. For example, you could, could, be a nice, intelligent, reasonable bloke in real life. People who know you in real life may hold the opinion that you're a good bloke.
On here you come across as a nasty, thick, racist tw@. And people hold the opinion that you're a prick.

All just opinions, nothing to get wound up about.

It's a little bit more than a " difference of opinion " though isn't it? You shout some of what you have been saying in Sainsburys on a Saturday lunchtime and see how long you last.

You are clearly a cvnt yourself - earlier calling someone else a tit because they don't conform to your view of how the world should be

If anyone should be banned - it's your abusive type

**** me this thread is depressing.

Do you think this moron who was shouting would have thrown those ebola and AIDS insults at Mike Dean for example? No of course not.

It's 100% racism. It's not generation snowflake or part of the game or banter or "what is racism really though". It's like saying making monkey noises isn't racist because some monkeys have white fur.

Idiots.

Being told I take it up the bum at virtually every game I've ever been to since the early 90's is simply part of being a Brighton fan. I didn't find it upsetting back then and I still don't. If you find it's all getting a bit much for you then may I suggest a little retail therapy or maybe get your nails done to take your mind of the unbearable anguish you must be suffering at hearing things that aren't factual being said by people you don't know.

I'm also still waiting to hear how this alleged chanting was in any way racist. Saying someone has AIDS or ebola has absolutely nothing to do with race. Did the alleged offender mention his skin colour?

How could saying you take it up the bum be interpreted as offensive? Women take it up the bum too. Just because they say it to you doesn't mean they mean you're gay.

Yes it was racist.

Standing in a queue waiting for a ridiculous 25 minutes at Brighton station to get to Falmer a group of men in their 50/60s were hurling abuse at a Palace fan. There was alot of it going on last night of course and these weren't the only ones at Brighton station but because of their age it was totally ****ing embarrassing and reminded me football is infected with cavemanlike morons like these and the guy who hurled the abuse at Zaha.

Usually when I take my young son to football who wasn't with me last night we go by train and don't hear crap like this however I think from now on we will get the Seagulls coach which we've got sometimes.
