His chant was sung loud a few times at Watford. Anyone with half a brain must know that come 9th Sept. we need to turn into the Hemed Appreciation Society! Get a goal under his belt, who knows...

THIS- best post I've read- has to be the way forward out of this shambles

Let's get behind the team people. We haven't got that much desired target-man but let's not get too negative and create a toxic atmosphere over this situation. Hemed will score more goals for us this season than Vincent Janssen will for Spurs. I'm pretty confident about that one:albion2:

If Vokes and Barnes can step up, then so can Hemed as arguably he will have better service.

I didn't hear it much at Watford (if at all) and was at the very back of the stand

But yes, really need to 'big him up'.

Has never let us down.

I really do. Regardless of what happens now, and how good or not he might be he is going to become the whipping boy from the fans and run into the ground. Currently in Israel which is a lot of travelling and will be starting the next few games at least... :Nono:

You can just hear the frustration of 30,000 fans at the first opportunity he misses

Privileged and being payed a lot of money to do just that .could always pack it in and do a real job

Yes! Let's get behind Hemed! Can nobody see him scoring against WBA? I bloody well can. Izzy AND Knocky running around that lump of a CB they bought from Egypt...parried by the keeper...only to fall at Hemed's feet and......GOAL!

Nobody can be sure that Hemed will fare any worse than the players we were going to sign at great expense. There are far more big money flops in the PL than successes. He was unfortunate not to score at Watford so who knows? As long as every player tries their best and puts in maximum effort, they're immune from criticism during the match as far as I'm concerned. Getting on their backs can only make things worse.

I think even the most positive of fans knows Hemed is not Premier League material, we'll just have to get on with it or go 4-6-0.

I dislike it when players that earned the right to play in the Premier League, are then sold off to Championship clubs, especially when they have a reasonable chance of being quite effective in the Premier League, so I am not at all unhappy Tomer is still with us. No question, he will get the support his effort deserves, and he will get goals.

Frustration at the transfer window is not just about a lack of faith in Hemed's ability it is also a recognition that an injury/suspension to him will leave us with almost no options at all. Even if he was Aguerro, we would still be vulnerable.

No one thinks he is a striker destined for a top 6 Premier league club, but compared to most of the other clubs strikers, he stands up.

Does he though? Half of his goals from last season where from penalties. In the championship he had 11 goals, 6 of which were pens. We can't rely on a penalty every game.

Rubbish, I'm a reasonably positive fan, but 3 games into the season, two of which were against two very quality PL sides, we have no idea how he will do at this level.

I still believe it's a very different game in the PL compared to the Championship, and the difference favours Tomer.

Others have mentioned Barnes, it's worth noting that he got his first goal in November and Burnley took 11 games to get a win in their first PL season, and in those first 11 games they had only led a match for 3 minutes.

"Finally. Finally Burnley have won a game. One hundred and ninety-six days since they last tasted victory, 11 games into a Premier League campaign when they had only led a match for three minutes, long after most outside Turf Moor came to the conclusion they were doomed, Sean Dyche’s team became the last of the 256 teams in the top 11 divisions to triumph."

Let's wait and see, lets give those players who got us where we are a chance to show what they can do, lets be a little more understanding about the step up for the players - and club - and give them time to find their feet.

We have a motto, Stand or Fall.

And as they say, united we stand, divided we fall.

#TOGETHER. :albion2:

Only stupid fans. Hemed helped get us promoted to the PL. He could do with some help up front now, it's not his fault the club failed to get it. he can only do his best, and if that's not good enough it's not his fault.

We basically told Hemed he can pack his bags once we got new strikers in, this was even published in the Argus.
What did the club actually say?

We do, but not 30,000. Barnes received criticism from isolated idiots around the ground, but it never seemed to be large enough to be audible around the pitch.
