Remember last January when we had to spend a lot of money on Vegard Forren as cover - this seems the difference in quality being in the top league

Did we have to spend a lot of money? He was a free agent and signed in March once it was confirmed that Goldson was out for the season.

presumably they will all have to go back in 18 months time anyway....what is the point in giving long term contracts to Europeans!

Getting our Country back and giving home grown youngsters a chance

marvellous Brexit scenes.

Can we clear up one matter that seems to have some people confused. If he is an EU national, he doesn't need a work permit, so, as he is Italian, he doesn't need one. However, coming from an EU club, but not being a national of any EU country, he would need a work permit.

Sounds like he's a bit of a maverick and doesn't seem to rest well at clubs.

I'm happy to be very wrong and will undoubtedly come with extra technical ability but so far has basically been let go by Atalanta, Inter and Sporting Lisbon.

Inter cancelled his contract by mutual consent after spending €6m on him.

Known as El Galgo ('The Greyhound'). Decent age, lots of Serie A experience, and provides some clear competition / cover for Bruno. Sounds promising.

Defence sorted. Now, come along Christopher, we're not staying up with 0-0's.

Well done on getting in a pop at Brexit.

Well it was hardly irrelevant to the question being asked, was it? It's something that genuinely concerns me on a daily basis, as an employer of highly skilled technical professionals, many of whom are EU nationals, and we are likely to struggle to recruit staff of similar quality in the future as Brexit bites, as experience suggests that the available alternatives on the UK labour market are considerably inferior. The analogy to the football transfer market is clear. Rant over.

From what I've seen over the years, the Italians move between clubs quite a bit. Look at all the managers that get sacked, then put back in charge a few months later...its like a carousel. Wouldn't read too much into it tbh...
