His "last dance at the disco" comment suggests to me that he would be our final roll of the dice if our preferred choices are not interested or fail a medical, which if I'm Niasse I'd take as an insult.

Not even hitting the dartboard, never mind the bulls eye

Niasse is not too far away tonight (Aldershot) if they wanted another scouting of him...Scored as well

Chelsea U23 0 v Everton U23 3

Everton Under-23s hit three goals past a Chelsea side boasting Eden Hazard to power to their first Premier League 2 win of the season at Aldershot’s Electrical Services Stadium.*
David Unsworth’s reigning champions had failed to score in taking just a point from their opening two games of the campaign but had no such problem in Hampshire as efforts after the break from Beni Baningime and Oumar Niasse added to Joseph Colley’s first-half own goal.*

Yep. Clearly club aren't rushing in here. Presumably if Niasse was their only priority then it would all have been wrapped up by now. Other irons in the fire and also Hemed deal sounds like its part of the mix.

Makes me wonder where Joel Campbell is placed on our list. It's no secret that Arsenal want to loan him out, slightly complicated by fact he now wants a permanent move away.

What's this Premier League 2 business? And why are Chelsea playing in Aldershot?

Look up Premier League 2 and it is to do with, I think, category of 'Academy' training facilities. Albion are category 1 !

Presumably for the same reasons that we play these fixtures at Crawley Town FC ! - Maybe preserving the Amex pitch whilst giving some revenue to another local club ?

If ever your occasional tidbits of info were needed, it's now!

]All I am saying that he may never have been 2nd choice. Everton are the best club I have ever come across in getting the best deal for Everton. They sold Rooney for millions at 18 year old before he ever proved himself. They got millions for Francis Jeffers who was ****ing rubbish. Just look at their history . They bought Tim Cahill and James Mc Fadden for peanuts. They are damned good negotiators. Just follow earlier posts on him Niasse.

Premier League 2

Premier League 2 is a new competition that replaced the Under-21 Premier League from 2016/17, with a greater focus on technicality, physicality and intensity to bring players as close to first-team experience as possible.

The age limit for players has risen from Under-21 to Under-23.

The league will take on the same format of two tiers, Division 1 and Division 2, with 12 teams in each, and the factor of promotion and relegation.

The 24 clubs who compete each applied for 'Category One' status in the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP). There are 15 clubs from the Premier League and nine clubs from the Championship.

Teams in Division 1
Arsenal, Chelsea, Derby County, Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Reading, Southampton, Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur

Teams in Division 2
Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham, Middlesbrough, Newcastle United, Norwich City, Swansea City, Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers

Brighton - In your face
Guardian 1hr ago.

Oumar Niasse is a target for Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace – both of whom are desperate to increase their options up front – but a deal has so far proved problematic because Everton are demanding a £10m fee for him and that he leave on a permanent basis. Brighton have made two offers for the Senegal striker, both loans with an option to buy at the end of the season, with the latest involving a loan fee of £750,000. Palace have not made an official offer.

I guess a loan makes sense in case we go down, however if we did then we could cash in so ultimately why no just buy him as prices are only increasing.

This one will go down to deadline day you'd assume, Everton badly want to get rid but there's no way we're prepared to shell out £10m on him.

It certainly feels like that. I reckon £7m would probably do it, and at that price might free up cash for another player elsewhere.

I have not seen a lot of him, but 7 million these days is pennies ... as we stand I would take him and a loan striker happily..

Funny question to ask after 24 pages i know, but is he actually any good? I have to admit to never having heard of him apart from this thread.

No one knows lol

Youtube looks ok
Flopped at Everton but didn't kick up a fuss
Did OK at Hull by all accounts.

If it clicked for him you would hope could get about 10 goals for us

Everton fans have almost to a man thought of him as a shite player, for some considerable time. The usual quips that they'd pay for his taxi.

Other than the risk that he flops for us too, there's another that he'd be on our books in the Championship on big wages, with few takers after flopping again. I would assume that the Board weigh that sceanario up very carefully.

But with just 56 hours to go, I guess beggars can't be choosers!
