Bearing in mind Zurich knew, so the player and his representations also knew about the condition, I wonder if anyone even mentioned it over the last 3 weeks?

I assume not, which is pretty pisspoor from all concerned.

I feel desperately sorry for the lad. All this excitement over a new contract in the world's biggest league and then nothing but a ruined reputation. No sensible & well run club will touch him with a barge pole now.

Hopefully he does not end up at Palace.

So any potential transfer targets would be in their rights to say ' you didn't want me before, but now your number one target has failed a medical ., you come to me ?'

God this place depresses me some times. Some people seemed to think we deliberately decided to leave everything at the last minute when the truth is that nobody on here - or virtually nobody - has any idea whatsoever what has been going on behind closed doors.

We as fans can only judge on what's in front of us. The standard of footall, the effort on display and our business in the windows.

This is professional football in 2017 in England, not some computer game where all you do is throw pretend money at another pretend club and you win the league.

Well exactly. It's 2017, football is absolutely brutal business and the only thing fictional is your opinion that it is/was not possible to bring in quality earlier this window, and every eventuality should have been considered along the way. There is still time.

To call for Winstanley to go is pathetic, a typical knee jerk reaction we see all too often and we would laugh at other clubs if they did that.

Nobody has called for Winstanley to go. The very suggestion is perplexing.

And slagging off and writing off players who are still finding their feet in the toughest divison in the world after just two games is just plain ridiculous.

Agreed.

If you wanted everything to be perfect then I'm afraid you picked the wrong club to support. If you find that perfect club let me know but me, I'm sticking with the Albion. I trust TB and and PG to run the club in the way they think is right and if it goes wrong then I for one am not going to blame them. Certainly not till I know the full facts, not just the end result.

I don't think anybody was expecting it to be perfect. They were probably just expecting a striker with pace before we had already played 3 league games.

I'm not a fan, I'm a supporter.

Not sure what that means.

Why are people who are unhappy with the window to date criticised as no fans so much. We all support the club but may have different views. I am happy to say I think we have left it late meaning we have players trying to adjust and zero forward power. We clearly are on plan z as regards strikers and may end up with nothing or paying inflated price
I am worried

Ah well the positive is he might have died on the pitch in Switzerland in three weeks time and ended up another statistic had we not tried to sign him. Now he can hopefully get the problem dealt with.

Zurich knew about it:-

We are very surprised at this decision. Naturally, we also had a medical examination carried out by the Schulthess Clinic before the change from Raphael to FC Zurich. There the same deviation from the standard was determined. However, this fact has been judged as being neither harmful to health nor compromising the performance of a top sportsman.

A striker linked with the Albion, you'd have thought they would cut out the middle man and carry out the medical in the Dignitas Clinic.

Exactly. Now down to panic buying and probably paying over the odds. This doesn't mean I'm abad fan just bloody concerned. Look at huddersfield last team promoted and all their business done. 6 points from 6. Premier league ready? I think not.

not exactly slagging the club off, but with Mitovec (?) turning us down, we now find ourselves 6 days from the window closing turning to our third choice striker target ? Not uncommon for us !
Right now I don't care. A young lad has possibly seen his career come to an end.

Priorities please.

There you go. Nothing life threatening. No drama just another dodgy deal.

From the outset this looked dodgy just like Neto.

Hopefully the recruitment team can redeem themselves by the end of the window.

In no way did either of these deals look 'dodgy'.

Neto had major injury issues look at the fans comments of the team he plays for. Look at my posts before his medical.

Dwamena was just ludicrous .... 10m for a player that has played 5 games above league 2 level....

Just my 2 cents

Yep, thats exactly what I would do as well, **** playing in he premier league. In fact that is my actual policy, I have REFUSED to play for any single professional team because they have all signed other players ahead of me (and every single semi-professional and amateur team in the world as well, for that matter. Bunch of *****)
