She moved away from the subject of pheasant pies and partridge curries to criticise the hunting of game. Bit like me having a go at Tony Bloom about the animal welfare of battery raised chickens after he gave me a free pie at Norwich. I feel Botham was hijacked and dealt with it well. I don't agree with him though.

But hunting is how they get the meat for the pies! So there is bound to be a lot of people who wouldn't be in complete favour of this initiative. And she wasn't criticising it, she was presenting the other side of the argument, which he chose to belittle her for, instead of answering the questions. I've seen it done countless times – and had it done to me.

He thought he deserved an easy ride and he didn't like it when he didn't get one*- especially from a Doris.

There is obviously a bit of creative writing in the press release as well because she was under the impression that they were giving away the birds for nothing. That's clearly not the case, hence her comment about it being a commercial operation, which it is. If he really wanted to help the needy, surely he would give them ALL away?

Mostly people who know nothing about it I imagine. I've against fox hunting, but from the limited amount I know (more than nothing), I don't mind pheasant shooting.

If he really wanted to help the needy, surely he would give them ALL away?
So if you decide to give some of your money to charity, we should have a go at you for not giving it all? WTF?

Doesn't surprise me, he's always been a prize bellend. He used the arrogance to perfection in sport, unfortunately socially not so.
Mostly this - he's done a lot of good work for charity and good on him for that but not sure I'd want to spend much time with him (or him me, I know :D)

Botham walks a million miles for charity then goes on tv as a cricket anylist again to earn some dosh then walks a million miles again. When he does the two together - or tries to he gets criticism.

Listened to it. Very strange and difficult interview. On balance, I'd say a defensive Beefy was just looking to plug his charity for self-promotion and wasn't willing or ready to get into the wider issues, couldn't understand why anyone would be against how or why these birds get killed. But in fairness, not her greatest interview either - got very bogged down and couldn't keep it moving.

I found myself thinking: 'The 14 million...let them eat pheasant and partridge'.

@ Whitebarn Barn, Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

A road so expensive, that only ManUre players, 5Live presenters and University teachers can afford to live there.

That's outrageous, she and I live in slummy Knutsford, and I bought my house from a lowly Oldham Athletic player who was being transferred to Plymouth. :censored:

Rachel will move out once the BBC equalise pay upwards to their female stars. Make the most of her :drool:whilst you still can.

I have been interviewed by her in the Five Live studio, and it was very difficult to concentrate, she is very disarming.
