In my view, that is complete nonsense, contrived to describe what you WANT to be the truth, rather than what you KNOW to be the truth.
I, and the vast majority of those I meet in 1901, are the total opposite to what you describe. I enjoy the comfort (why is that a crime?), I'm not the least bit interested in status, and there is no corporate feel to it at all.
In response to the OP, I enjoy my membership of 1901, the staff, on the phone and in the lounge, are always courteous and friendly, I knew the cost before I signed up, I knew it was for five years, and I knew where I was going to sit.
No-one made me do it.

Our lounge or seating area. Think we get a bad reputation as as far as I am
Aware we are just fans like anyone else. The 10 of us have been going for years, myself 54 years and was a season ticket holder at Gillingham, Withdean and my friends similar loyalty. Also went to 14 away games last year. Agree that we we do not deserve anymore loyalty points that other season ticket holders, but don't treat us as some different type of fan, same as most in my Experience.
Good points are the view and comfort, been in other parts of ground and our view in my opinion is superb, no where better. Lounge is good, you can get a beer in comfort, and we know all the people there, so
Nice and friendly. Always have a beer after, watch the highlights and the walk back to the uni car park and normally home to worthing by about 6:15.
Bad points, as mentioned the reduction
Of the perks over the year, not sure we can moan contractually, as there is always terms in favour of the club, but it was sold with these benefits and now most have gone.

I've been in 1901 a couple of times with a mate who copped a couple of tickets and thought it would be a change from my usual season ticket.
I would have thought it makes a big difference whereabouts you sit but it was strangely lacking in atmosphere where I was. And the lounge stuff didn't feel right - I'm used to queuing up for my pre game drink not sitting in a room with bar service, comfy chairs and a telly.
Just takes a bit too much edge off going to a game for me.

Regarding just the 1901 rather than ticket points I go on my mate's corporate tickets once a season. We always have a good day out and it certainly has advantages. Smaller beer queues, smaller food queues, better choice of food, beer in real glasses, better view from the seat, better toilets and casual access to some Albion legends. it also (for me) has some big disadvantages. Being told how to dress, high chance of being next to an away / neutral / clueless fan, no atmosphere and our group restricted to 4 people as that's the number of tickets his company has.
I go to football for mates and atmosphere and I like wearing trainers so it's not for me but I can now see why others would do it, which I couldn't when it first started and I genuinely enjoy my once a season experience.

Personally, I'd be quite happy to take a 1901 ticket off anyone who's that unhappy and has a decent seat.
I've got a great seat in East Upper but dislike the long queues, crowding, lack of seats and general atmosphere in the catering area.
Only been to 1901 once (beam back for the Villa game last season) but thought it was great.
If that puts me in the prawn sandwich brigade then so be it.....!

Minor point, but the only positive change they have made is relaxing the dress code to allow wearing trainers.
I was pondering this morning whether I could think of any positive changes they'd made to the T&Cs since inception, and couldn't think of any. This is one; can you think of any more? The year by year removal of things is starting to get wearisome...

Not hiking the prices too much last year was a positive imo, I don't know this for a fact but I reckon we may be one of the cheapest in the Premier League for the corporate area. Prices will only increase slightly even if we end up doing really well in the Premier League. That's a bonus to me, although I do accept we could be back in league 2 in four years too which would make it fecking expensive!
Yes, the price rise was very reasonable; especially as we got promoted in the first season of the new contract period. I was expecting them to try to further differentiate between true corporate and fans who want more comfort/better view still further by increasing the price gap between platinum and gold. The fact that they didn't is a big positive.

Been in there once, hated it.
Especially in the winter you get a nasty wind whipping in over the top of the stadium straight into your face. It was the Reading home game of 15/16 season if i remember correctly, the one where Reading had about 37 fans.

As a proud 1901 member I do slightly resent these bashing threads. I am a Brighton FC fan through and through.
These kind of allegations are not confined to Brighton though and we see similar knocking threads in the Arsenal hospitality areas.
I certainly don't think I am above any of the common people that occupy the rest of the stadium. I watched avidly the FA Cup final on TV and was there when Richie Reinelt scored against Hereford and Zamora scored the famous penalty at the Millennium stadium against Bristol.
Yes, I sometimes have to leave early to get home as I live the other side of Lewes, but otherwise you can be stuck for ages in the car park queues. I certainly won't be leaving some of the big games this year early and if anyone has any spare (1901) tickets for the Arsenal game do PM me as some of my Gooner pals are also coming down.

It's a shame that a local company didint get the contract for food in the 1901 it was thought bigger was better how many compinies have we had in the 1901 so far. However now we are in the premership they need to step the standard up.
