I'm more worried about the civil war in Hastings.

It's getting close to it. She'll win - My prediction - nothing more - but Labour posters getting trashed now - a non-politically aligned group behind all of it - with the polarised feel to this election its evident here - it's left/right and ask a fisherman what he thinks about Brexit and Amber Rudd.

To be honest, I could almost accept a Tory victory if it meant the demise of May and the return of Nick Clegg. Corbyn has done an amazing job, but not quite good enough. For a few weeks it looked like May was really going to implode, but she got lucky (apologies for the use of that word) with the London Bridge attack....which enabled her to have another last ditch appeal to UKIP and the far-right nutters who will no doubt cement her victory tomorrow.

I agree with pretty much all of that other than the "Corbyn has done an amazing job". Undoubtedly he has if you look at the campaign in isolation. Unfortunately the term of his leadership prior to that was absolutely chaotic. Surely any leader's primary goal is to bind together a cohesive team, and on that measure he was found sadly wanting.

Whether you blame him or not is neither here nor there as the divisions and infighting pushed Labour so far back that they handed May a gimme. She's done her best to throw it away but that was pretty much an impossible task, as we'll be finding out in 24 hours or so.

Comfortable Tory victory. I think the real story of this election will be all 3 major parties looking to replace their leader after Friday.

Not a chance Tories will seek to replace May after Friday if she wins.

My big prediction is that they'll be a Lib Dem surge. Whilst May's horrific campaign might not have turned many from blue to red, I suspect a large amount will go yellow today. I think Lewes & Eastbourne will turn yellow along with a fair few other constituencies. I also can't see how Corbyn can do any worse than the muppet (he really did look and act like one) that was Ed Miliband. An interesting night ahead.

I'm glad someone else mentioned this first. The Manchester bomb removed the dreadful dementia tax from the headlines and appears to have now been forgotten about.

It appears with these two latest attacks the terrorists could have aided the Tories to victory!

A comfortable Conservative majority (50-100) but with Labour getting a higher percentage of the vote than would have been expected 3 weeks ago. May will not get the Erdogan-inspired coronation she was expecting as the vote will be based more on residual loyalty to the Tories, Brexit and historic mistrust of Labour. It will be in spite of her, as her reputation will have nose-dived with a number of groups.

The right-wing press will be angered at having to resort to levels of hysteria and distortion which may make even them feel a bit uncomfortable and they will see it as their victory. They will present her with a bill for this and could easily turn on her.

Tory activists and MPS will have had a much more nervy and awkward few weeks than they believed to be neccesary and will have been uninspired by a wholly negative campaign, U-turns etc. They will not forget this experience.

Many of her voters will do so with little enthusiasm and will have major doubts about her courage, conviction and will have seen her record in office largely trashed. If their fears are confirmed they will turn on her and the government.

Labour, whoever is leader, will use her discomfort in a debate and will sense blood, making the Commons a torrid place for her.

The EC will look at the Government they are facing in the Brexit negotiations and be embarrassed for us. ‘There is no need to punish these people, look what they are doing to themselves’ They will opt for a generous approach. (OK this last one is wishful thinking).

I,m on the outside looking in these days, but from here I don't think I can ever recall such a divided nation.

North / South divide.

Brexit / Remainers

Poor (allegedly ) / rich.

Idependence for Scotland etc / the Union

Each group so entrenched in their beliefs and so little grey area or common ground.

Sad.

Whatever the result, I,ll just 'get on' and pay my dues.

My prediction is that in the 8 or so hours between polls closing and most results being confirmed, politicians will talk more honestly than normal (unless they're fishing for a job) before going back to the normal lying and spinning that treats us all like idiots.

Agreed. Most of the talented politicians in the Labour Party refused to serve in a Corbyn shadow cabinet and he did little or nothing to persuade them to change their minds. The result is two of the most feeble front benches in parliamentary history, led by two of the weakest party leaders in living memory.

I predict that the British Electorate will get the Government and Parliament that it deserves.

And for everyone on here who goes on about not trusting politicians and how they are all as useless as one another, why do you think we have the politicians we have :dunce:

I predict a significant proportion of people on NSC won't accept the result as Tory voters didn't know what they were voting for and will argue for a second General Election asap.
Chuckle.........

I normally have a good feel for the general trend of voting outcomes,... but I confess to not feeling strong conviction for any result..... maybe a close Conservative win, leaving SNP to effectively set the themes in Westminster.. not a happy outcome.

Unfortunately it looks like a comfortable Tory victory, I sincerely hope that it is limited in it's number and that therefore the extremes of the Tory ambitions are held in check. I had moments of hope as the gap narrowed but the hatchet job and Corbyn appears to have done the trick. I only hope that in years to come people reflect back on this campaign and hold May et al true to the promises that they have made, sadly I suspect not.

I also hope that at some point those of you who support the beneficiaries of the Mail/Sun campaign join us in recognising that a balanced and responsible media is actually, you know, a good thing!

Finally, and back on the subject of predictions - If, as is likely, May is back at number 10 on Friday we're going to be told to shut up and accept the result and that 'the people have spoken'. Each Tory bill will come with that mantra, 'it's democracy' they will say, 'you must accept the will of the people'. Fear not, we will dust ourselves down and carry on fighting the good fight. Campaigning, protesting, whingeing, moaning, call it what you like.....
