Still remember the time we did them 2-0 and he said our goals weren't even good goals. The guy is finished

It's not crazy at all. He has failed miserably with a very talented group of players!

The same group of players that have failed 4 managers in 83 games which makes me wonder how talented they are. He took them to relegation candidates to safe top half and a flirt with the playoffs. Not bad considering their performances under Pearson. As I say I don't rate Mac but having hired him for the second time I think it shows a total lack of management at boardroom level not to give him the time to build his own squad in the summer.

This. The only major departure this summer was Hendrick and I can't recall any major departures the previous season either. It's a top half of the Championship but not promotion team ... and that's where Schteve has got them.

There probably needs to be a big clear-out and a manager has to have more than a few months in charge - their chairman must be totally bonkers. Rowett shouldn't go anywhere near it, there'll be a job at a better-run football club soon enough

Norwich. They do generally give their managers time, even if they are prone to sacking them at odd points in the season. Derby had five different managers during Alex Neil's rein!

Mel Morris must've had a say in the sanctioning of Chris Martin's loan move. How that bloke has made millions in business I don't know . He doesn't seem to have a clue what he wants. That said I agree that McClaren's choice of line-up on Friday was odd to say the least

Goes to show the fine margins in football!

2 years ago, McLaren's Derby battered us over two legs in the play offs
That's not what happened. We were the better side in the first game, but they had better luck. In the second game we were missing players and were very easily beaten.

Has Schteve ever walked away from a job or has he been schacked from every schingle post he's had?

I think Walberton is just the man waiting to walk into a Championship club, be good to see him in place getting the best out of Derby before the Huddersfield game.

He wasn't sacked at Boro, he left to take the England job. He was at Twente twice and wasn't sacked on either occasion

From a story on the BBC Website: 'Derby, 10th in the Championship, said they acted following a "significant, unexpected and persistent decline in results, team unity and morale".'

That's not the normal 'We'd like to thank Steve for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future" sort of thing they usually trot out. I think there are big problems in the camp that run deeper than just getting rid of the manager.

I've just been looking at the Derby Telegraph site, Derby County have had SIX managers in the last fourteen months!

How the **** is anyone going to be able to build a team if they only get 6 months. It can't help knowing that the axe is hovering waiting for any down turn in results so the triggerhappy owners can get in the next chump.

I think Mel should have a crack at managing them himself. It's the natural progression from all of this, and he'll have the advantage of all the players being his mate.

Clearly behind the scenes issues here. A talented squad which should be doing better, much better. Indeed my one wish is that the new manager gets them to showcase their talents particularly at home to Huddersfield!
