Our "Al-bi-on! Al-bi-on!" chant being bellowed out on 4 sides of the ground, combined with The Amex acoustics designed to contain the noise in the stadium, creates something very special in terms of crowd noise. We should be more proud of it.

Unfortunately we were 2nd best last night but will come good again at Forest and on to Rotherham with no repeat of last years result there as they have lost Matt Derbyshire

A win on Saturday, followed by a Huddersfield win later that evening puts the Albion at the top of the pile again. That's how quickly things can change.

100% this. If we win we will either be top or 8 or 9 points clear of third with 11 to go. Last nights result was disappointing but that's it. Disappointing. Nothing more, nothing less. Some people need a bit of perspective and to be less emotionally incontinent.

I listened to H&J yesterday and normally they are great, but firstly Jacobs basically said that we were already favourites to go down from the PL (that might be true, but an odd comment on the build up to a game) and then the preview to the game that they'd been teasing all show was basically a chat with a correspondent on the North East for one of the papers, who just spoke about Newcastle. A neat segue into Huddersfield and they were onto FA Cup chat and that was that! Very odd.
In a funny sort of way, I'm glad this game is gone, regardless of the result. There was so much media hype about it and how the winner would win the Championship (maybe, but by no means certain), that it will be nice to get back to lower profile games.

I was impressed by how we played last night against the team with the best home record in the country, think a draw would have been the fair result but it was an unexpected 3 points from us. If we can take points from our next two games it sets up nicely.

As others have said, I don't really have any concerns about losing a match to Newcastle.
What I do have concerns about is how easily we were upstaged by a team of Premier League players. It's concerning that so many of our team weren't good enough in comparison. Of the teams which started last night, I think only Knockaert for Atsu, Stockdale for Darlow, Stephens for Colback and Dunk for Clark would get into that Newcastle team. If we do go up, there's a big gulf in class and I'm concerned that last night isn't terminal to our season, but longer term it is something to think about.
I remember when Duffy was signed it was suggested that Hughton had decided after Burnley's equaliser at the Amex that he wanted a more dominant centre half to come in, so we signed Duffy. I wonder if, after last night, he's made similar decisions about other areas of the pitch. And where's Skalak gone? And Norwood.

This with bells on. Silver lining for me is that NUFC will be feeling invincible after beating us at the fortress that is the Amex and will carry that on to their game with Udders. If they smash 'em we will be on our way to creating the gap we all want.

I don't think I've seen a team play through one player quite as much as him last night. Simply their "go-to" man - and for a good reason at this level, albeit I thought we handled him pretty well with Baldock and Murphy closing down that space that he likes to operate in . They would miss him (as any team would), and assume their run of poor form coincided with his ban..(not bothered checking stats). The only surprise was that it was Ritchie who hit the 60-yard pass for the winner!! I had looked at him two minutes earlier and thought he looked shot.. what do I know!

Did anyone else think their support was poor last night? Obviously not in terms of numbers, you have to take your hat off to them, but they were very subdued until they equalised, surprising when you consider their world renowned support.
