Yes, but you're not his target audience. He's talking to his core vote who's understanding is at that level. They love him hitting out at the same things they hate and until that stops they'll follow him relentlessly. In fact, I think the real problems could start if moves are made to remove Trump.

and you know what thats all about? Hillary apparently had donations from a chap who once owned stake in a company years ago, that owns uranium deposits that is/was in some sort of business deal with a Russian business. for a man who's personal business dealings are opaque that's a decidedly dodgy area to start scratching out. there were several of these sorts of claims during the campaign, and seems Trump forgets that its over, Hillary is gone now.

The American reporter on BBC Breakfast got it right when he said, Trump needs to stop campaigning and start being a president.
The problem is that he hasn't got a clue how.
I think that his plan was to launch a number of Presidential Decrees and show everyone that he alone was able to get anything done. Now these are being stopped he's hitting out at the reasons for the blockage - Congress, senate, judges etc. As a powerful businessman he's probably used to bullying his opponents into allowing him to have what he wants (often in exchange for something else). I don't think he has ever had an understanding of how complex the process of enacting new laws is - and I certainly don't think he has the stomach for such a long process. Once he starts getting bogged down in the details I wonder how long it will be before he starts to lose interest and look for other things to do - like Syria, Iran, N Korea etc. That will be when it gets really scary.

I think the really worrying thing is that Trump and his cohorts aren't failing to understand current day western politics, they are redefining it. They know they have unwavering support from a significant mass of the largely unquestioning, unthinking, susceptible electorate. They know they don't need to try too hard, their propaganda (or call it populist click bait or false news) is swallowed hook line & sinker. Trump won the election. Democracy in action. Don't question the outcome. War is Peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.

side. We need to persuade not insult those who voted Trump if we are ever to make a change. You are critical of the democratic process for choosing leaders and you are using precisely the same reactionary arguments used by the nineteenth century patrician class in opposing universal suffrage. Do you realize that progress on social issues in the west has happened because of and through the democratic process because they sure wouldn't have happened if
left to Westminster, the Bishops and the nobility.
Are you arguing for a return to decisions being taken by 'educated gentlemen' ? If not then what are you proposing as your alternative to universal suffrage ?

The only way to effect change is to persuade them not to vote, deny them the vote or hope for either constitutional change or impeachment.

Keeping it simple, what I am saying is that democracy has been a very useful belief system for keeping the populace quiescent. It's been refined and tweaked during the last century to further gratify and appease the proletariat, comforted in their belief that through the electoral process they would make a difference. And so maintaining the have/have not status quo. The illusion has been preserved by democratic parties and major corporations playing and controlling the game. Unfortunately for the ruling elite in America, the Democrats but far more significantly the Republicans took their eye off the ball by underestimated the ability of populism to rip up the rule book in an interconnected world. In the past they controlled with ease inanities/anomalies like Reagan who was no more that an ex-film star totally pliant puppet. Trump is a game changer.

what i mean it, Trump and his team dont understand the process of politics, how to get policy enacted and delivered. you need to get the legislators (congressman and senators in this case) to back your policies, and by extension get their constituents to support a policy, and have local issues and pet prjects addressed to maintain loyalty. alienating the media and political classes does not help his cause, because in a couple years when he's done nothing, people are tired of hearing "the media say fake news", see their local representatives distant from him or saying he isnt helping or is blocking their causes, they'll be turning on Trump. he cant play this game for long.

Trump has 2 years, after mid term elections any power he has will be more limited.
He didn't call Trump a white supremacist. He was referring to Breitbart (ie BANNON) who absolutely IS.
