I have always been of the mind that our citizens need a tough leader, Churchill, Thatcher, even Blair. I think May is in that mould. We won't always agree with her no, but we need that person that puts their foot down and means no (or yes) when they say it. Personally I think Blair was a good PM other than his ill founded reasons for Iraq, or sucking up to Bush. He also did a hell of a lot of good for our country. But in general he wasn't the worst PM ever (I am Tory, mind you, so was he). Strong leadership in this country is good across the world. But sucking up to a psychotic maniac could be a bad move.

Spot on. She doesn't impress me at all - she is merely playing to the gallery. There is nothing clever in failing to stand up for your principles.

To be fair, that's a poor example of him rambling insanely. Only his last sentence can be considered insane - it is very much far from the beginning of the end for her. Sadly.

Brighton and Hove is a hot bed of lefties and greens however the Town is still trying to catch up hasn't it only just recently started a green bin service the previous one was private enterprise. Recycling rates need to improve etc.
Is it so left wing because Brighton is a big University town and it has a hi number of students stay when they finish studying.
Lots of Brighton born residents move out the town East and West and now coming over the Downs to beautiful and green Mid Sussex.

Just throwing it out there but there's probably a very good reason why we're sucking up to Trump. With a hard Brexit looming - he may be the best hope we have of avoiding national financial ruin. Maybe - just maybe - May knows he's a detestable bloke but it putting the interest of her country ahead of her politics? That seems like a fairly reasonable position to me. Pride comes before the fall and all that,

As much as I disliked Thatcher, May neither has her presence or conviction. Thatcher knew what she wanted, May is a fish out of water.
