12 days and counting, can't even attract a striker when we are top of the league.

Well we won't be pay stupid wages and in reality we're looking for cover for Baldock. Think we need someone relatively young who doesn't mind warming the bench but can still make an impact when called upon. Someone like Conner Chaplin would be an ideal signing in this window.

I suggested him some time ago let Ince join them as part of the deal.

I don't get this cover for Baldock thing? Surely we want a player as good if not better to, with both challenging every week to be started?

Not much doing in the papers today.

Middlesbrough's Uruguay forward Gaston Ramirez, 26, is a £12m target for Leicester City, who could also offer Argentine forward Leonardo Ulloa, 30, a new contract in an effort to keep the forward at the club. (The Times)

Burnley have made a £7.5m bid for Hull's 29-year-old midfielder Robert Snodgrass. (Daily Mail)

Crystal Palace are preparing a £10m bid for Tottenham left-back Ben Davies, but Spurs want at least £20m for the 23-year-old. (Sun)

Aston Villa have had a £6m bid for Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes, 26, rejected. (Daily Mail)

This is so true... unless it is a short-term thing, which I wouldn't opt for, personally... at the moment, we own 2, count them, 2 strikers, and play 4-4-2... we are going to blow our best chance of promotion for years if we don't go for someone at least as good as Sam B, preferably better, and on a perm...

So far, that's Palace linked (at least) with Schlupp (signed), Jenkinson (signed?), Evra, Van Arnholt and Davies. Just how MANY full backs are they intending to play!?

Manchester City have officially confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus.

They signed the player from Palmeiras in the summer for £27m plus add-ons, but let him spend the rest of the 2016 season with his Brazilian club.

He now joins up with City's first team.

Jesus said: "I want to win titles and Manchester City is a club that is used to winning.

"City is a club that always competes for the title in the competitions it enters, so that was an important factor, and because of the manager, Pep Guardiola, and the squad."

Jenkinson deal is off which is a right result for Palace, no idea why they wanted him tbh. Ward and Kelly must be feeling especially unloved at present.

Wow, it's almost as if they're trying to get relegated.

Aston Villa are expected to complete the signing of Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury by the end of Friday.

Forest rejected an offer from fierce rivals Derby County for the 26-year-old midfielder earlier in January.

The Rams have retained their interest in the former Arsenal player, for whom they made a bid of about £2.5m.

But Villa are believed to have offered about £3.5m for Lansbury, who is out of contract in the summer.
