everyone is expecting us to stroll to promotion now. Everyone that is, except our own club and fans.
Thankfully that's true for most, but some in this thread are explaining how it's a done deal already.

Considering we are 1/8 to gain promotion, that's not unreasonable. It's just that some of us have seen things go tits-up for this club very quickly and all too often. But those who are saying it is a done deal might well be right, it's just that I won't believe it just yet.

Stand back, pedant incoming...
Well they're not right are they, it's not done :) Even if we were to be promoted, they still wouldn't have been right.

A falshy new signing would be nice to take my mind off it all.

What worries me most is the nagging feeling that if we can't do it with the current set up, on the back of whats been built, from where we are in the div, then how the feck can we do it?
:albion2::shrug:

If we don't do it this season you would have to say we would then have a very big mental block about making this step up.

There's a long way to go but it's getting shorter. The clock is ticking towards our destiny. I just hope we don't have to start another 5 year plan.......

Each match the chasing pack run out of a little bit of road to catch us.

Just under 5% of remaining road per match currently.

The problem with quoting the bookies ludicrous odds on prices for promotion, is that they are a reaction to current form.
What the odds aren't is a confirmation of future events.

With Preston, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield on the horizon those ludicrous odds could (hopefully) look very generous.

But in the space of those 3 games, I don't think anyone posting today would be writing 'we're even money for promotion, let's have a party'.

If we don't do it this season, it's hard to imagine having the players to compete for a third year running.

I think we'd go back about 2-3 years in our development if we didn't do it this year. It's hard to imagine how we could possibly have a better set up than we have now, at the budget/infrastructure level we're running atm.

Thats progress. There were people on here after we missed out last season saying it had put us back 4 or 5 years. To only drop back 2 or 3 is a huge improvement

I could almost cope with the cockiness if the HOME support was good.

People's NSC persona is an exaggeration of the real world, but when the criticism here is rolling on into the AMEX 'we' clearly need our bubble burst, what with it only being JANUARY.

The East Stand is silent all game, until Bong misplaces a pass.
Knockaert can boot freekicks out of the stadium but god help Norwood if he misses by an inch.
At some point Stockdale will have a 'moment', and we all know how that'll end.
It certainly won't be a recap of all the points he's gained this season.

If posters are going to be stupid enough to want to compare this side against a Premier League team in the 4th round.
Then they need to start supporting their championship players considerably better when they're playing at HOME.

Stat - I'm not silent in East Upper.
As are most of the crowd around me. Although to be fair they haven't been nearly thrown out several times:rolleyes:
But sitting in East Lower on Saturday sucked the life out of me.
The six 'bollox' crew including tattoo lady were ten yards away from me for the whole match. They are only in it for their own witty :moo: comments.

does it really go tits up for us very quickly and all too often.
In January 2011 it didn't - 25 games played, 6 points clear at the top of the table - We won the league with games to spare.
When else have we been this far out in front at this stage in a league campaign ? for it then to go tits up ?*

*doesn't mean that it won't but where's this sense that we've done a Derby and choked "all too often".
They've gone into January for last 3 seasons looking likely for automatics and then not made it...We certainly haven't.
