Safe standing - Would you pay £5 a match more ?

I'm really not sure they would unfortunately. The game has moved on a lot since the days of terracing. I don't think 3000 of our fan group would be up for paying a premium to stand. Even 80% of the poll at the current stage on this site where I imagine support is higher wouldn't!

Really? I always thought the majority on here were not interested.

But we can all sit at the football, but we can't stand ! If 3000 safe standing places were up for grabs, I guarantee people would pay a premium for them, I say a premium but it would equate to the difference in price from a north stand seat to a west stand seat !

So for a category B game £40 instead of £30 so a £10 premium

Hopefully this poll will prove the club wrong !! Come on !! It will be the most exclusive part of the stadium !! Apparently Celtic have waiting lists to get into their safe standing section !!

The poll is worded in such a way that it asks individually whether a person would pay extra for standing. That's not the same as being for or against the concept. You are perhaps forgetting that NSC has a very middle aged demographic. At our age, sitting in the West or even, shudder, as I do in the family stand, isn't so bad, particularly on the comfy, padded seats.

People need to get over the notion that "safe standing" would be anything LIKE a return to terraces. Its not, and anyone who thinks it is, is being suckered in by nostalgic bunkum. You'll have an allotted space, with a seat built behind it, and a rail to lean on. Great. You can't just rock up like in 1995 and push your way to a spot and find your mates. Those days are gone.

Complete waste of time and money IMO. Have it if you want it, I won't object to it. But I won't be swapping my WSU seat for it. Unless you're happy with lower league or non-league football, terraces are dead. Deal with it.

Yeah, maybe. I was refering to only one opinion about this - mine. But somehow I suspect the gaggle of safe standers paying over the odds for the privilage of recreating the 'good old days' may well include among them a rum lot.

Its not a lack of interest in the surveys. You will probably find that respondents said they were happy for safe standing but would not be standing themselves. If there really was a huge interest far more would have indicated they wanted to stand

4 in 26 as it is or 1/6 so north stand standing and leave the rest as it is and if those naughty milwall or the pikeys turn up we have loads of seats to replace what they break and charge em top dollar for them job done! After all they are the manure of the south lol.

Are padded seats a waste of time and money? I wonder if we had a poll now about the potential of adding this luxury, how many would say it's a worthwhile expense. The point is to provide for how everyone would like to experience a football match. I'd like to stand and currently, for me, home games are flat and full of half-interested, smart-phone obsessed, fair weather hipsters. I personally think a safe-standing section would improve that and it would be nice to be around those that are actually interested in supporting the team rather than those that frequent the amex expecting to be entertained else they have better things to do. And don't say move to the NS as you and I both know what goes on in there. Last time I went in there I had some tosspot repeatedly tap me on the shoulder with his ****ing programme every time I dared rise slightly early on an attack/counterattack.
