Just came back to NSC after a four hour break and another one goes. RIP

My main memory of Wham was in Nottingham in 1983 when the hotel I was staying in was besieged by Wham teenage fans.

I had late night drinks with Pepsi and Shirlie but no sign of Wham who were headlining in the City.

RIP George Michael. You lived a great life.

Also, RIP to all the 92 who died on a flight today. What a scary and tragic way to die. Thoughts go out to all the family and friends of the victims of that flight.

Infact, RIP to everyone who has died today. Thoughts go out to everyone who has lost someone today. RIP

Spookily I was having a discussion about the celebrities that have passed away this year and I predicted GM to be a possibility for being a 2017 candidate to be lost.
It was said a bit tongue in cheek tbh so WOW! I'm going to shut up in future.

No, go for it! Put a few quid on at William Hill or Bet Fred to make a few quid on your hunches for 2017. Just not on George Michael, obviously..................

A British pop institution. A huge talent and by all accounts a very decent bloke with a self-deprecating sense of humour. I'm not a huge fan but no one can deny what he has done for British music. RIP

People speculated the same thing about Prince but he died of an opiate overdose so perhaps not best to speculate especially based on an assumption about someone's sexual preference.
Tbf, I think George Michael's sexual preferences had been pretty well established and verified. Whether or not that was a contributory factor in his death, though, is entirely another matter - and, of course, entirely speculation.

I'd only thought earlier on in the day how the Grim Reaper, like an October wasp with days to live, had targeted the cast the cast of Band Aid. "George Michael had better be careful", I thought. I literally dropped my phone when I read the news. He was one of our most outstanding songwriters. There aren't many that belong to his league. I don't want to even think to name the others until 2016 is out. RIP to a huge musical influence. A genuine great.

Genuinely upset by this
Normally I don't really give a shit about celebrity deaths, but this one has hit me. I grew up with his music, I loved Wham, I loved his solo stuff. A gentle soul, a lyrical genius.
This is the worst. 2016 saved it for last.
