The word up here is that we're getting Stephens for £2 million and you're signing Barton until the end of the season, on wages of £50,000 a week.

If anyone wants to call me a liar then I can be in Brighton (or Hove) within 9 hours to sort it out, depending on my Ford Anglia.

You'll get a call from another forum when you are on the M25- who'll offer you a better quarrel to fight over...

Here are some lines for Dale when he wants to be bullish at the next press conference.

1. I was really touched at how 99% of Brighton fans thought I'd done nothing wrong after the clash with Ramirez, we'd have won the game if I'd not been sent off.

2. The whole is more than the sum of it's parts. I play better with Beram alongside me and he makes me raise my level to Premier League standard. Without him next to me, I'm simply not as good.

3. Brighton backed me massively when I had a long injury. The gaffer is the nicest man in football and I owe him, the Chairman and the fans a duty of recognition by signing a contract.

4. I love looking at all the fitties as I strole around town, I love this damned place and will never return to the grim north to eat coal and piss in my own bath.

There's no point selling Stephens. We would have factored the next 6 months into our accounts and budgeted accordingly. The value of him in the last 6 months will be so small it won't be worth bothering about

Well that's just it - the value is what someone is prepared to pay and what we're prepared to accept. If a PL team really want him now, it makes no difference to them if he's got 6 months left or 2 years. It only matters if they're after a bargain, which we won't accept. So it's possible a club would offer serious money, but I assume Burnley are happy with the choice they made so unlikely anyone is after him that much.

He's not holding talks with the club over a new contract. I think he will not sign even when the club gets promoted . Sell in January and bring in Zach Clough from Bolton
