I've read some strange posts on this thread but this must be near the top if the list. Please do tell how positive thinking is going to improve the economy.

I must remember to let off some party poppers the next time the Government release financial details which are poorer than last time.

Well if we all go around thinking the worst 24/7 you will never get out of bed. In the end, you will all end up creating your own recession due to all the negativity that gets passed around. You should let off some party poppers.

Given what has been annnounced this afternoon I doubt our usual Brexit posters will be so smug with their posts going forward.

Perhaps you should tell the Chancellor also given he mentioned lower investment and weaker consumer demand driven by greater uncertainty and higher inflation from the stetling depreciation.
And yes this down to the referendum result. So rather than your usual stop moaning everything is bright and sunny perhaps you should swalliw a degree if realism and acknowledge where we actually are at present.

Is a swalliw an endangered species,or have you got a cold?

The Brexiteers were right though there would not be an Emergency budget. We've had ours on time as usual, but just decided its better to borrow more now and pay later instead

The ship is rapidly leaking oil but we can still steer clear of the rocks

So even if we steer clear, we will be clearing up the leaked oil for years to come.

Probably quicker and easier than clearing up all the wet knickers and mattresses :lolol:

They are just saying there is no plan and we will probably be a lot worse off once we finally leave the EU but they don't want to spook the markets at the present time will the fact that we're clueless

Today is just a warning shot, really its just the start of where we're heading. The UK is heavily reliant on inward investment and we need as much as possible if we're ever going to be back in the black, or you can waive good bye and the likes of the NHS and other nice things

India and China and long term goals and US could well be entering a protectionist phase. We need to get real...

i wish you and others would, rather than wallow in doom and despair. nothing today was either unknown nor as bad as projected in May and June, we went forward knowing this, so lets just get on with it. no one, i mean no one is going to reverse the result. it may be in two or three years time the politicans make a deal that changes the complexion of leaving the EU, whine on about economic predictions wont help them.

Well he can read a forecast prepared by an independent organisation who specialise in this sort of stuff.

I'm not getting involved in this numbers tennis other than to point out that all economic forecasts are based on economic assumptions and are a constantly moving feast. If you quote the forecast you need to quote the assumptions in order to provide context. The field of Economics was constantly misused during the Referendum campaign by people who did not understand the subject (not saying you are one of those, I just picked your post at random from the deluge of figure quoting).
