Of course, imports cost a lot more, so fuel costs will be rising rapidly, making transport of food more expensive, which will mean higher prices at the pump and in supermarkets.

If that's reported that's focusing on bad news/a price worth paying/we got our country back/the stock markets haven't dropped/Cameron's gone etc

I get paid in GBP and transfer my wages into Euros . Compared with this time last year I'm now receiving almost 30% less euros every month . Holding my breath at the moment to see how low the £ will drop

Yep. If the OPEC gang manage to hold firm on restricting production, that will be the cherry on the cake as fuel costs go through the roof. We've been in the phoney war period up to now but things are starting to get a bit warm with the pronouncements at last weeks conference. The storm of rampant inflation and all the sideshows that accompany it are building up. The little englanders can continue in denial and delusion. No doubt blaming foreigners, Merkel et al. Anyone but themselves.

Where's my pot of blackberry jam? It's my favourite. I thought you would save me a jar.

Of course this is annoying for you, but you surely know that the rate ebbs and flows and that is the gamble you take, if you organise your money like that. This time last year it was just short of 1.40, when you will have gained.

Set against the current Deutsche Bank problems this is a very tame sideshow. Not to say it's insignificant but I would be far more concerned with what is likely to happen and how it'll impact the Eurozone in general.

Look on the bright side, we'll probably see less new BMWs on the road. What a fillip for the British car industry.....

FWIW just another pebble lobbed into the ocean that is NSC to say it REALLY is hard to believe what is going on in this country at the moment.

We obviously would be much better off staying in the EU, yet we are going to leave.

We desperately need a dynamic left leaning government (to address properly the gross inequality of opportunity in our country), yet we have a dull old Tory who wants to bring back grammar schools.

It's okay. Our rail infrastructure in this part of the world is first rate and reasonably priced. People can use that instead.

Well we have seen far more people "get on their bikes" just as Norman suggested all those years ago.
