Goldson is going to have to wait, Duffy was very good last night, not quite sure why some fans seem to want him to fail and are giving him no leeway as he settles down. Looked much more settled and I don't remember the last player we had who was so dominant in the air. Excellent acquisition by the club.

He was decent yesterday, just a bit concerned if he comes up against a pacy player eg Vydra he might be a bit exposed as he doesn't seem the most mobile. Definitely don't understand any criticism though.

He ****ing NEEDS to stop heading the ball into no mans land for an opposition player to pick it up. Please stop. Even El-Abd didnt do that. Maybe we have been spoiled with "cultured" CBs over the years.

A much more composed display against 'udders than his performance against Brentford. I must admit I'm warming to him, and with any new player it will take time to settle in - people should remember that.

Unless I've just missed it previously I thought he was very vocal (not Dunk's strongest point) last night as well.

Yep, looks like he's a leader which is good as we haven't got many of that ilk

Can't really hear the players in the West Upper, too many fans munching on the pies! :)
I would say that's the joy of being in the family stand.
Duffy and Kayal were having forceful words at the start of the 2nd half.
I'm sure they were 'positive' (sorry I can't think of the phrase I need to say they weren't having a binfest) but it was clear who was the dominate speaker.

The actual joy of last night in the Family stand was Knocky targeting us for his mental goal celebration.

Thing is when Goldson is available he won't need to come up against these type of players as Hughton will have a bit more flexibility at the back. Sounds as if he's settling in nicely and will be a good acquisition to the squad

Clearly his confidence isnt very good, people were blaming Murphy but I think it is both their fault, no cohesion, Murphy made moves last night but Bong didnt spot the by the time he passed, Murphy had gone or the defence had seen it, that little bit of hesitation cost him, then when he did hit it first time, Murphy held his run. Those 2 should spend some time together and work out some plays, find the link, then I think they will both be fine.

Thought Duffy was great last night and is forming a useful partnership with Dunk too. I think he could be a real danger at corners too and could get some in the right end this season for us.

He was alright tonight - still nowhere near Goldson's level IMO. A strange signing for such a high fee. He is fairly slow and his headers are a bit wayward at times but is def solid enough - just hope he doesn't keep playing just to justify his price tag when it seems fairly clear Goldson is better at the moment...

Are you serious? Good grief.
