As long as you don't come out with the 'ladette' response...I can drink any bloke under the table!!

Well.

Frankly, if I wanted to, I respectfully suggest that would be entirely my business, and nothing that you should be concerned about. I won't, however, principally because I can barely even drink myself under the table these days, let alone anybody else, and certainly not you big butch guys :)

Aspall Premier Cru to mark my first Friday night at home for what feels like ever but is, in fact, only three weeks.

I think you need to be having a manly drink (whatever that is? probably not Babysham or Port and Lemon), rather than be actually manly yourself - so you're in. :drink::bigwave:

Christ it didn't take long to drag this thread down did it. Normally the preserve of us lads so let's make this the last time we invite a girlie along!

I always judge a wine by the label ( not very scientific, granted ) and that's a cracker. Where did you purchase it?

Very sound approach :salute:

Majestic (Canterbury). I had always been prejudiced against Spanish wine, having had one bottle on hols some years ago, finding it violent and unpleasant, (incidentally, this is why I have some sympathy with racism and bigotry). However, I decided to question my prejudices, when the manager at Majestic, knowing my inclination for Big Heavy French (think Fanny Ardent, the belle of film noire), directed me towards the Finca Carelio temperanillo last year. Since then I have been eschewing the frog in favour of the dago, and delighted I am with it :lolol:

Love a heavy French as well and had similar experiences with Spanish as your good self but now love a decent Rioja. Current favourite though is an Italian red dispensed by the local off licence which is the nectar of the gods
