Terence Trent D'arby supporting Simply Red. (I know) Blew them offstage. He didn't become a mega star but was quite successful.

I stayed in the bar while James supported the Smiths at Portsmouth Guildhall. This must be same tour as the Dome concert mentioned by other posters, but it was 1984.

Graduate, supporting Judie Tzuke at the Dome in around 1978. Graduate went on to become Tears for Fears. It wasn't a great concert.

I went see the Stranglers at the Brighton Centre in 1987 area because of the support band, Xmal Deutschland

I saw Tears for Fears supporting The Thompson Twins at the Hammersmith Palais in (I think) 1982.
Mrs Sock allegedly saw Queen supporting Mott the Hoople in about 1973.
And I also caught a very early French & Saunders show at a veggie restaurant in Highgate about 1981.

Mrs K was at the Mott the Hoople and Queen support. 1974 at the Rainbow?

Yes, I know they never made it to the big time - but sixth support band at Brighton Poly back in 1972ish deserve a mention. I give you Randy Grope and the Exploding Green Laxative!!

I believe the headliners were George Thoughgood and the Destroyers. Happy days!

The rage?

I did see The Rage around then, but I seem to remember them not turning up, and being replaced by an awful band called Wrist-action.

However, definitely have seen The Rage, so may be at was at that gig..
