So say there's an option. You should look at the way you phrase things. Firstly "Hales is useless" is a statement of fact. Not an opinion. And while not proven at test level, it is also incorrect to say he is useless.

Then you state "there is an answer as I have been saying but the selectors wont do it". This suggests that you know for a fact it would work. Not "I have an idea" or "We could try". That is a view. Yours was a confrontational statement of fact and seems to make out the selectors are stupid for not trying a 40 year old.

If you look at threads, I have plenty of original views and ideas, I just phrase them in a way that aren't confrontational (which much of yours are). Maybe it's just but I find your way of posting to be superior to many on here, as if you know best, which encourages reactions like mine (or of mocking you like others have done on this thread) and doesn't lead to discussion.
You may have a point but everything I post is purely my opinion whether it comes over as that or not. If it doesnt I apologise but my wife says as I have got older I have become more confrontational with my views perhaps she is right also. I can assure you it is not intential. I do not openly intend to offend anybody on here, with possibly 1 exception, and that is not you or most posters.

Great innings though - let's hope Root can move into three figures as well.

Hey why don't we pick an international World cricketing X1 all with a mental illness and then next week can do the same with an ex English football X1 who have admitted to contemplating suicide.

Even though I think he should be kept at no.4, to be fair, the lad could bat anywhere he is that good.

Taxi for Vince. I said it before, he will not make a test cricketer; 200-plus for 2, set up for a low pressure innings to establish himself after Root and Cook had shown him how it's done, and still he insists on chasing wide ones early in his innings...
Next cab off the rank please....

Root does very well scores well and then appears to have a lapse of concentration and loses his wicket to stupid stroke that he would not normally play or hadnt done previously in the innings so I can see the point about giving his wicket away cheaply.

Still can't fathom whilst Ballance's first movement is so far across his stumps. Any ball that nips back off the seam is always going to leave him vulnerable.
