Seriously ask the leavers what they are expecting to actually happen now? - loads of new money spent on NHS? no that will be spent of bailing out Wales who will now lose their net financial benefit of being in EU and will need rest of UK to cover shortfall, removal of all immigrants from our shores and no more to arrive - was never going to happen, a brand new UK farming and fishery policy..ah no as Europe still going to be our main market so we will still have to adhere to their policies in order to sell to them....safer UK....nearly all recent terrorist attacks in UK by UK nationals.....etc etc etc

I maintained from the start that the referendum was a bad idea because a vast number of people people don't know the facts and so are voting based on emotion rather than a calculated decision based on what is best for the country.

Don't get me wrong, maybe if everyone knew the facts the result would be the same. I don't know. But at least then it wouldn't be a campaign based on fear and misinformation.

Serious question - What mess will this country be in for the foreseeable future? What will the result of this referendum look like in say 10 years. I am genuinely interested to know what a remain voter thinks will be the "consequences" of this result.

Just remember that there are still many of the population around who were conned in to voting this country into the EU in the first place. It was a vote to enter a common market with no mention of sovereignty or law making.being handed over to this beaurocratic dictatorship.
Just remember there are many still alive who lost relatives in the war. Many of those killed were just teenagers . my great aunt lost both her young sons.,Tthese men and boys. British, Irish, Polish, Indian, Canadians and French resistance thought they were fighting to save sovereignty and democracy and it was appaling that what they died for was for nothing as power was just handed over anyway.
So maybe you should be disgusted and ashamed - with yourselves.

My late Father who served in the RAF during WW2 believed that the EU made his war and the sacrifice of so many of his friends 'worthwhile'. The EU represented us coming closer together and meant peace - and so it proved.

you could have a customs union covering most trade ( a few exceptions to placate vested interests and get past the awkward memebers), along with visa free travel. sounds familar? it should do with large dose of irony. we'd probably be expected to pay in something too, with the rebate gone (would never survive any negotiation), maybe half our current gross figure?

bear in mind with the UK, there is a large budget black hole in the EU, they have to find the shortfall from a number of countries which are also having grumblings about the EU.

Remain lost its now time to move on and work on our future together.

Why? Its a divided country. If the deal changes then we will get another vote. Nothing yet has changed. Brexit leaders have no bottle, not even asking to invoke exit, now wanting to bide time. Another election, pro eu party, we stay in. Simple

I don't see why a solution to please both could not be sorted out. It is not as if Farage wants to end immigration, just restrict it. You could, I suppose, have restrictions on those people that want to settle in the UK - they must have a job or enough income to support themselves for example, much like the restrictions in place in non-EU countries. Brits would have similar restrictions imposed on them if they want to go and retire in Spain, for example (they may already do?). A solution is not insurmountable, but it depends of course on how flexible the EU will be - my view is the EU will have to dramatically change or it will slowly implode.

The EU most certainly has to change, they need to understand It should not just be about the people in suits, it should also be about the people. I voted Leave, but honestly I can't see us divorcing the EU completely. There will be some new agreement reached, whether it includes something on free movement is another question.

As someone who voted remain I'm pissed off about the result but accept it. Why? We live in a democracy where voting for MPs or in a referendum is "first past the post". We even had a vote to change this a fee years ago and democratically decided not to. OK, so 30% didn't vote. You can't say that they should be added to one side or the other, they just didn't care enough about the outcome to get off their arses and go to the polling station.

The result is the result. Accept it and celebrate the fact that we live in a country where a decision made by the people that the establishment don't like is acted upon, not ignored, illegally changed or met with tanks on the streets.
