Nothing? In what sense? I never said there was any trouble if this is what you're alluding to. There wasn't, apart from the reporter who was attached and hospitalised.

Toulouse was not boarded up and life went on as normal

yes thousands of English in the Capitole, but no trouble at all

and we lost!

well going back to what you originally wrote,i dont recall you saying you were referring to bars shutting at midnight,i dont remember all football entertainment being shut down, there were marquee fan zones by the river which were open,i can remember drinking some very pricey booze. I dont remember the place being boarded up,it was fully open everywhere and great fun. Since you left before England turned up maybe you just confused people putting shutters up at night time like they normally do and were not around when they opened up the next day.We left Toulouse reluctantly about 2 in the morning on a train, very well sozzled, never having a problem finding a boozer open.

So yes i didnt come across a nasty atmosphere at all or a closed town, perhaps the links you supplied were talking a little bit of bollocks as usually unfounded and untrue press reports seem to follow england supporters like a bad smell at tournaments.

And one last thing. In the interests of balance the tournament was sadly more known for the trouble the Germans caused in Lens where a policeman was put into a coma.

I went to watch an England game in a bar in Glasgow once. Scotland had player earlier and the town was full of drunk scots. The minute the game was on the big screen spit started flying In the direction of the England players, plastic glasses were thrown, constant booing and jeering and when the stand up if you hate England started I stood up....and sneaked out. Horrific
i don't doubt it mate , but you can bet your life this was the "up from the country" bumpkins and Celtic fans.

Alas I have just read the Band are being allowed to all England games, what a massive disappointment, almost makes we want to support Wales

Why don't they just give it up. They ruin the atmosphere. Fair play to them for travelling all round the world just wish they'd leave instruments at home. Be interested to know what those that follow England home and away think of them?

Probably 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. We'll end up taking the grief though.

Some reports of slightly provocative chants from our fans though. Who knows?

Don't they still get their travel paid for by pukka pies

The press will be waiting for this to happen in Marseille because of what happened last time England were there.
England fans were attacked by local youths, and of course it's England's fault.

Why do some people insist that the English fans are always unfairly blamed?

Personally, I think it's more likely that the English subculture of drinking yourself into oblivion is probably a more likely cause. These people are probably mostly sound fellas (and nicer for the French than some of the North Africans in their midst anyway) until they've had 15 pints and turn into boorish plums singing provocative songs and luzzing chairs and bottles.

I did see some on FB a few weeks ago. Some **** announcing that they would be hunting muslims during the Euros. Trying to find it.
Fairly sure the French will have their own dimwits though.

Doesn't matter where we go in the world the locals will always want to have a pop. It also doesn't matter where you go in the world (even in this country) the riot old bill will also fancy a pop. No one likes us.

This all sounds much ado about nothing 2 arrests 1 local 1 English. Will no doubt happen again tonight and probably before and after on Saturday. Still keeps the media happy.
