I do like you and your contribution, sorry if thats a patronising , its not meant to be.

I though would substitute FACTS for SOME THINGS PEOPLE HAVE FORECAST RE:BREXIT.

You have a point. I do use facts when pointing to trend data. Anything yet to happen is a forecast, that's true.

The report showed that the HMRC claim that Immigrants contribute more than they receive in benefits was "nonsense"
http://www.migrationwatchuk.org/press-release/448

HMRC arrive at this figure but
"they only compare receipts of income tax and National Insurance with payments of child benefit and tax credits……….on the one hand the comparison does not include taxes like VAT and excise duties, on the other hand it doesn't include housing benefit or any other DWP payments"

"most importantly (HMRC) does not include the cost of any public services whatsoever"

You've got to be kidding me...

You seem to have a blinkered view that migration only produces.

Do you really want me to post links to all the numerous studies that demonstrate how migration has not cost us a penny? There are far more than just the UCL, LSE and treasury reports.

Also, it's not straight thinking to select an example of a crime to back up your belief that immigration feeds crime, no more than it would be fair of me to post a story of an immigrant saving a little girl from drowning and then claim immigration means we are safer.

Are you deliberatly being stubborn or are you stupid? These are possible solutions. The root cause is a low birth rate, maybe banning abortion would put that right.

There are no good magic wand solutions to this screw up. One thing that wont survive all this is women's status, the future belongs to those who breed. a 1950s solution may well be the lesser of evils.

In most leading economies the birth rate is falling so this is a global issue

I think the point is if you open up your borders (i'm not getting into border control myths with you on this one) then you might get say 85% of people who just want to work and live and say 15% criminal element. This is just round figures for argument sake.

If we had REAL and PROPER control of who enters then the vast majority of that criminal element wouldn't get past the gates. Its not like they're brain surgeons or nurses who suddenly go rogue are they.

They're just unskilled jobless lay abouts in their own country, so what benefit is it to us to allow them in just cause they're EU?

I want immigration, but I want the best who will help improve and take this country forward. What we don' t need is more people who can wrap meat in a pita bread for a living or other unskilled workers.

We have enough here in the indigenous population.

You wouldn't HT. You live in the powerhouse of Europe, the centre of the largest collective economy in the world. I will toast you with a beer

You'd be better off toasting him with your meds and toddling back to your room.

And you avoid questions about your statements - care to answer them or do you not know the answer ?

At least 5ways and HT attempt to back up their own posts, you on the other hand just parrot pro-EU stuff and then avoid questions around backing it up.

What are you talking about? You want to know what i meant when i said "you know so little". that was to Bladders not you

I think it's important to avoid a condescending tone in this debate, so let's refrain from that.

As you'll have discovered, there are a great many studies that support the economic arguments for immigration. The question you raise is a good one, with the lack of investment in infrastructure should we try to pause immigration. I don't think that means we should leave the EU. Unfortunately, the two are impossible to disconnect. It's highly unlikely we'll be able to negotiate a pause on immigration even if we wished to. That leaves us with the option of leaving. As most studies show - and today's treasury report is just one in a long line of consistent reports - the impact on the economy would be such that we would find it hard to invest in basic infrastructure let alone infrastructure designed to deliver growth.

I'm happy to discriminate against non-EU nationals as these nationals are not part of an economic bloc of which we benefit from.

You are right to point to migration being responsible for the population rise. As the native population growth has been in decline/stagnation since the 80's and 90's that is not surprising. It's a fact. This won't change by us throwing up the borders and hoping it will all go away. As the OECD points out, the UK may think it is worse off than everyone else, but this is a global issue.

if we were to believe your clap trap the uk will go back to the work house era

BREXIT - Is there anything it can't do?

It could cause a war!
It could cause house prices to drop by 18% by 2018!
It could cause GDP to drop by 9.5%!
It could cause the NHS to be overstretched and lose staff!
It could cause food prices to soar!
It could cause us to be exposed to more terrorism!
It could cause lots of firms to pull out of the U.K!
It could cause the City of London to become a economic wasteland when the banks pull-out!

I'm sure I've missed other claims. Not sure I've seen any about causing more global warming, but they must be lining up something on that soon.

Shit. This BREXIT is a powerful thing.

I wonder what other preposterous claims we'll get next.

I wonder if it could stop the earth spinning? Or maybe lead to an Alien invasion?

And yes, I know there's the referendum thread, and No, I didn't want to post this on there.

All of the nonsense, from both camps, has got so ridiculous I'd vote for anyone who was able to come across as honest and rational.

That really shouldn't be too higher bar to set.
